On offense, it’s quarterback Kurt Warner and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Defensively, it’s a trio: safety Adrian Wilson, defensive tackle Darnell Dockett and linebacker Karlos Dansby. On special teams, it’s Pro Bowler Sean Morey.

Could be a sign of things to come... Q gone and Dansby gets paid...

Doesnt say anything really. He wasnt captian last year either and Dansby was.

The only thing new is that Fitz took over Wells Captian spot from last year and Dockett was added.

You guys kill me with what you try and read into something like this. This isnt chosen by the front office it is chosen by the players themselves who dont make personnel decisions. So its basically a sign of nothing.

It may be a sign of nothing in reference to the front office but one may infer an indication of what the locker room thinks; I do know this he USED to be a captain, he's not now. And, if it were so close or a point of contention why not 3 on offense???

Q is one of my all time favorites so this is not a personal feeling of an indictment against him by his teammates, just an objective observation.

Walking out on the playoff celebration and wanting a trade will cost you captain votes.

I think he'll quickly earn back any doubt once the games start but he hasn't really been on the field this preseason. Out of sight, out of mind?

Why not 3 on offense, because coach limits the total amount of captians to 6. You cant have to many captians, you know the saying about to many cooks in the kitchen.

As for the locker room they all have siad nothing but great things about him, some actually going out of their way to talk good things about Boldin. Even the media says how Boldin is still one of the hearts in the locker room. It is very noticable and isnt even a question according to his teammates, FO , and media's comments, comments I give more credit to becuase they go out of their way to mention it.

Is anybody besides me absolutely shocked that Lance Long wasn't selected Captain?

Didn't the team know what his forty time was at the combine when they made these ridiculous choices?

Thats not it at all IMO. He wasnt Captian last year either, its not a new a new story line.

Also the Players dont vote for everyone. They vote for one on O, one on D, and one on ST. Coach decides the rest I believe.

I think it might play into it though and the examples I've given are continuations from last offseason when he was dealing with his contract situation. Of course I don't know but it might be rubbing some of the players the wrong way for some reason.

Usually players side with players on contract situations but the approach he's taken may be the difference in a few votes between being a captain and not being one.

Then how do you explain Dockett who has done the exact same thing over the last two years concerning his contract, yet he is a Captian. Shouldnt that rub people the wrong way even more so considering he has less of a leg to stand on then Boldin.

I really have no idea. I'm not particularly familiar with Dockett's situation but isn't a difference between the two that Boldin talked about a trade and Dockett just wanted more money?

I've never heard anything but that Boldin is revered in the locker room so I'm just guessing. Was his captain status in the past the player vote or the coach's vote? Maybe the players never actually voted him as captain and this is really a case of status quo over the last few years and now the coaches are choosing someone besides him.

I'm just guessing at a reason as to why there might have been a change in the players voting.
