I'm so done with 2010 and ready for a lock out. I don't think Rod Graves should lead us through this. I prefer Marty Schottemheimer as GM because Ken Whisenhunt is a product of Marty's coaching tree. Nobody is more experienced and confident as Marty. He does not get kicked around or sit at the little kids table. And Whiz might actually listen to him?

Rod has his blessings and flaws like all people. I like him but the same problems, different coach. We have too hire a 2nd GM to get the full package IMO. He is getting paid like a full grown man.that money could be better spent. If we hired Marty before we don't have all of these problems. Marty now we won't have all of the problems later. We just won't.

We don't need band aids or tinkering, This team and operation needs major surgery on lots of units, player and staff. long term vision, and fortitude. Graves signed off on this staff, I think He needs to correct it against whiz's will.
I'm not sure if he is capable? I'm sure Marty is.

As far as Assistant coaches, Grimm and Spencer are hard to upgrade I hope this posts good, but how many would find the same job they have now in the NFL? kind of like Porter and Faneca Huh!

The one thing that jumps out at me is the number of coaches that have NO pro playing experience. I wonder if other staffs look like this?

Spencer and Lott are the only ones who should feel totally secure in their jobs. Every other member of the staff should at least be concerned about their future prospects. Some coaches are probably not totally at fault, like you can't really fault Chris Miller for the QB fiasco this season, if he made DA in to a legit QB he deserved to be canonized. Still if there is a chance for an upgrade every position on this staff needs to be looked at.

If we replace the OC and DC this offseason will those new coordinators be allowed to bring in their own people?

Do we have any assistants that might be attractive to other teams? IF Grimm were to go to the Panthers (or wherever) who would he try to take with him(aside from his son)?

Did you notice that our OC "in training" has no college or pro playing experience? I wonder if he is taking lessons on Madden?

That means nothing. Bill Belichick played at the powerhouse Wesleyan University. Mike Tomlin played at College of William and Mary. Remember that crappy O-Coordinator we had that was eased into his job? He played golf in college. You can be good at something even if you never operated at the highest level.

The New Orleans staff is very similar. the difference is they know how to coach.

The thing I noticed is that Bill Davis has never been anywhere more than 3 years. I guess every team figures out that he's easily replaceable, i.e. not that good, and moves on. You have to give him credit, he must be a great interviewer to keep getting jobs after being let go.

It jumps out at me how many guys who have several stints of only a single season......and then a few others who were either out of football, or coaching high school or something before we hired them.
Chris Miller,...played for the Broncos in 99......then disappeared for ten years before we hired him.
Baby Grimm,...played LB at VT in 06,.....then shows up here three years later as offensive quality control....WTF??

Yea both Quality control hires were friends sons by Whiz, I said something then but nobody had the stomach for it, We were winning and I was a so and so.

I mean they got to get started somewhere and I don't know enough to say for sure. I thought SWS or somebody might know more.

But yes Chris Miller was main factor in cutting Matt and keeping DA, Max. Skelton was a no brainer developemental draft pick all along. Every other QB coach in the NFL is better and some setting at home, just look at the results. and the hopelessness going forward. NO QB Coaching experience, sounds great until the train wreck, with friends.

Mike Miller lets see if he's an NFL quality OC, Wll nope, He aint even half of an OC on our team, again hopelessness, no vision results going forward.

On and on
But It is apparent Whiz has yes men and he picked them and Graves signed off. Not one great educator that could be a top college HC that I see? If they knew anything about teaching football fundementals they left it at the Salt River.

You know what happens at the river stays at the river.

I really don't know how much power Whiz's new contract allows him on staff operations and personell, All that was reported was ALOT MORE! I think Whiz has a great heart but he is as rigid as the day is long.

This season might have beat it out of him but I think not. He'll fall on his Sword for his friends over the fans just out of habit. He cares about the fans don't get me wrong, but he wants both and it aint working.

Russ needs to be OC if he stays, earn his ride to a HC job, Grimm has not carried the load as a coordinator, I mean traditional like everybody else outside of Whiz's OZ!
