Really like the McDonald signing, wonder why he was cut.

And Obizor had a sack in the Colts game on MNF this preseason for the Packers.

This is probably the end of the road for Adams...

Color me skeptical. That was his only sack in 8 preseason games and 5 regular season games.

Young McDonald had a "pick"...

EI EI O! LOL YES! I'm in a riduculous mood. :D Again! Makes life more FUN! I'm still picturing UofP rocking w/ "Wild Thing" by the Troggs ( I think) when our "Wild Thing" (D.A.) gets us in the end-zone! GO CARDS! :D

Any update on Adams' injury? Do we reach a settlement with him then bring him back after the season starts?

McDonald's a good pickup for the Cards - has 3 years experience and is only 25.

From Cleveland newspaper re: Browns' final cuts:

While most of the transactions were expected, the release of McDonald did raise some eyebrows.

McDonald, a fifth-round draftee of the Browns in 2007, bounced in and out of the starting lineup throughout his three seasons. He clearly has the ability to be a backup at this level, but hurt himself last month by tweeting a vulgar comment about Bengals wide receiver Terrell Owens.

Ironically, McDonald broke the news of his release in the same manner, posting the comment, “Thanks to everyone for the best wishes. I enjoyed my time here, but all must one day come to an end.”

(Posting something vulgar about TO would be viewed as positive in some quarters. ;))

NOOOO! Money Mike is one of the reasons to see the game. I am sure he doesnt have the same physical attributes as some of the other players, but sure is a ton of fun to watch. All motor with that guy. I put him in a category with: Ron McKinnon, Pat Tillman and Larry Centers: quality players known more for their heart than being physically dominant.

So who do we sacrifice for these two signings.....my guess is Mike Adams and Marshay Green.

I am hoping we put in one more claim. Pats let go of Tyrone McKenzie today. Looked completely over his knee injury from his rookie year and would look great in the ILB mix IMO. Was seen as expendable after some of their trades and everyone's favorite 2010 draft whipping boy Spikes putting in a great offseason becoming their starter.

Someone on Somers blog said that Mauia's agent tweeted he had been released. I have no idea who his agent is so I haven't seen the Tweet so take it for what it is worth.

That would leave us with zero Fullbacks...you'd have to think one was getting signed soon.

I hope so. They may use Spach in that role.

I think that if any CB goes it is McBride. He just doesn't bring the same physicality to the special teams that Green and Jefferson bring.

So, McBride and Mauia.

Look for the Cards to add a FB later.

Urban says he wouldn't be surprised to see the Cards sign Owen Schmitt.

McBride tweeted the other day that they are having him learn a new position. Any idea what that would be?

Somers tweeted that we did claim a FB but it was not Schmitt. Name forthcoming.

Cards claim FB - Jerome Johnson of the NYG. Just might be the largest FB we have ever had at 265 lbs.

Cody is headed to the Jets by the way.

Jets release Tony Richardson. Mitch wanted him earlier.

I noticed him being cut yesterday on the other thread. Someone had mentioned that the Giants were stacked at FB, and thought one would be worth a look. Props to whomever said that, I can't remember.

I would still like to add Tony Richardson. A real professional at FB and can still play. He would also be a good receiving option. Worth finding a place for in my opinion, and we could use two fullbacks.

Jets cut Tony Richardson

A 15-year veteran and three-time Pro Bowler, Richard spent two seasons with the Jets, which followed two seasons with the Vikings, which followed 11 with the Chiefs. The Jets could be planning to re-sign Richardson after the first game, at which time the balance of his salary would not be guaranteed.
