Arizona has decided not to extend an offer to 49ers DE Chike Okeafor, but Okeafor’s agent, Andy Simms, told PFW that there remains a fair amount of interest in his client. Simms said that, in addition to the Cardinals, four teams have talked to Okeafor — Detroit, Kansas City, Jacksonville and Denver, which is where Okeafor is currently visiting (he’s leaving later today). When asked if the Niners were still in the mix for Okeafor, Simms replied: “That’s the best way to say it. The 49ers are still in the mix, but at this point, we’re still talking to a number of teams. The DE market has moved slowly up to this point, but I think things will accelerate throughout this week.” Simms added that he didn’t think Okeafor would be visiting any more teams after the Broncos. “I don’t anticipate that,” he said. “I think Chike has enough to go off — as far as the places that are interested in him — and with the Niners still involved. It’s important that he’s comfortable with a team that really wants him. We’re trying to make a marriage. I anticipate something will be done by the end of the week.”
