Five teams get four extra draft picks apiece

March 24, 2003
PHOENIX (AP) -- Five NFL teams will get four extra picks each in the April 26-27 draft as compensation for losing free agents a year ago.

The earliest pick will come after the fourth round, the 131st overall, which will go to Philadelphia for losing linebacker Jeremiah Trotter to Washington.

The five teams with four picks each are Baltimore, Green Bay, Miami, the New York Giants and St. Louis.

Chicago will get three picks while one each will go to Arizona, Cincinnati, Detroit, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Seattle and Tampa Bay.

I'll take it! I'm kind of shocked that we got anything seeing as we signed Starks and Jones. I guess Pittmans performance in the Superbowl was enough for them to give us an extra pick.

jurecki said on the radio...he was handed a sheet (media sheet given out by nfl)..it said..
cards lose..chavous, pittman..gain starks... so they get a 6th round pick..

seems they forgot to add in that we got freddie jones...which means we would have probably gotten no compensation picks..jurecki seemed to imply it was an error..but we still get the pick.

this sounds as messed up as the damn COIN flip we were posed to have with the cowturds for the 5/6 pick in the draft

but I am happy with any extra pick
