I'm still hoping we snag Morris Claiborne to pair with PP and the HB. I think that reunion brings out the best in all of them.

Wasn't Clairborne pretty much a bum in Dallas? not sure he'd help.

I think a lot of that was injury related. He's only played in 40 games over 4 seasons. Change of scenery and reunion could go along way to bring him up to the potential he had coming out of LSU as the #6 overall pick (that the Cowboys traded up for).

I've read DAL is actually interested in bringing him back and cutting Brandon Carr. Actually makes sense as they can save some cash.

Jax gotta spend dat cash.

In all seriousness though, people are amazed at the deals these guys got in the first day of FA. Why are we so amazed? Salary cap goes up, player contracts are going to go up. Highest paid [insert position here] is going to be the new norm.

Thirty one, personally I think Powers is a better solution than this guy... I do not see Hall making us any better and will make us have to address the cornerback spot relatively soon again and maybe he is just a stop gap for a rookie we are planning to draft

Leon Hall is a nice, versatile player. Better in the slot than outside at this point of his career. Injury history could bring his price down.

If this is the only CB we add, it is a bad move.

If this is one of a couple, it is a good move.

We will see.

Nice!

I really like Leon Hall. In a pinch he could play on the outside, but he will play on the inside for the Cardinals. He is not the player he once was, but he will add to this team.

Have always like him.

He will be about as good as Jerraud Powers, if asked to play on the outside. BTW, Powers is still available and has had zero interest as far as I can tell. He may be back, at a discount.

Yup, I think if this front office is really serious about changing the dynamics and making a Super Bowl run, well, we are going to have to pull off some trade at this point to help our pass rush if this is our CB solution because our success and its relation to when we draft and current cap position has us locked into a position which does not offer the needed improvement, hence we might have to move a player to bolster our pass rush or we will have the same result which is risking an exotic blitz but no biscuit lol

Yep. It will come down to the number. On guys with very apparent limitations the lower the number, the better the signing. That is why some of these FA deals make me shake my head. 18 mil for Brock. 10 mil for Janoris. 20 mil or whatever for Vernon. Ivory? Jones? Sanu? Allen? Fleener? Harrison? Why? Desperate teams are easy to spot in free agency.

I don't believe the front office is as concerned with the perceived window as some on this board are. They aren't panicking, and are sticking to the plan. regardless if you agree, that needs to be respected.

Oh, I respect it because they are operating in the only logical way they can right now given the situation and I do not endorse spending the outrageous money some of these desperate teams are (Honey Badger and others will have to be paid in the future and he is more of the future than the available free agency options). The first objective is not to lose ground before one can expect to get any better... Keim and the guys are going to have to find a way to stay pat with the level of team that got them to the NFC title game but improve and it is going to require some craftiness :)

I think one of the things lost in free agency is that we have young talent. It is asking a lot of any player that has been in the league over 3 years to all of a sudden improve, but it is fair to expect some improvement from 1st and 2nd year players.

It is not crazy to expect DJ Humphries to improve with a full year of weight training and coaching.

It is not crazy to expect Rodney Gunter to improve with a full year of weight training and coaching.

And where it can get scary, in a good way, is that it is not crazy to think David Johnson and Markus Golden to get better....and they were already good enough to contribute.

Then when talking of players like Deon Bucanon and Kareem Martin, Ed Stinson, the 2015 season was only their second season, and in Bucanon and Martin's case they are playing new positions.

Personally, I think teams need to keep pace with the Cardinals. The strongest way to get better in the NFL, and this has been proven time and time again, is through drafting and developing young talent.

If the Cardinals continue to develop their young talent, they will improve as a team.

Free agents are great for filling needs quickly where there is no talent to develop, but it is a short term solution, IMHO.

Leon Hall, and Tyvon Branch are good pick ups for this team, because tho there is very good talent on this roster in the secondary, there is not enough young talent to develop and fill all the needs on the team.

Now all that being said, it is no guarantee that the talent I list develops to the point where the Cardinals need it to, but that is the dice you roll in the NFL.

Now that Amukamara has signed with the Jags, the Cards most likely will sign Hall come this Monday.

I think I'd rather have Casey Hayward...younger, can play both slot and outside. Seems like a better fit for the Cards.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Cardinals will host free agent CB Leon Hall on Monday.
Hall, despite his advanced age (31), is easily one of the better free agents left on the market. He's become a very solid slot corner-only at this stage of his career. With Tyrann Mathieu coming off a torn ACL, Hall would be quality insurance and allow the Cardinals to bring Mathieu along slowly

Thought... (an addition)

Bring back Greg Toler and throw him into the mix.

Indianapolis Colts' team site would suggest we do not...
"Toler, who has missed 14 games in three years with the Colts, allowed 17.0 yards per catch in 2015, the fifth highest mark of any starting cornerback"
and is currently listed as a safety, and 31 too like L. Hall
