Espn article on Vegas bets says the cards O-line ranked 13th in sacks allowed the 2nd half of the season last year.

Fears regarding the team's pass protection stem largely from the 58 sacks Arizona took last season. The Cardinals allowed 39 of those sacks in their first eight games. They ranked 13th and beat the league average in sacks allowed per drop-back for teams in their final eight games of the season, however. The team has subsequently added guard Jonathan Cooper in the first round. Also, starting tackle Levi Brown and starting center Lyle Sendlein are expected back from injuries. Finally, new quarterback Carson Palmer ranks seventh in fewest sacks taken per drop-back since 2008.

will be an interesting year. That's for sure. Though all signs point to progress on the line. I'm really curious to see how the team looks on offense in particular. I don't think it will be the embarrassment it was the past few years

Completely changed their "offense". The various QBs were just dropping back and chucking the ball quickly. Rarely for completions I might add.

We're in for a shock this year. After the last couple years of horrible Oline and QB play, even average is going to seem like Nirvana.

I think you're right. And if the D and ST can play close to as well as they did the past couple years, this team could actually look good. But in the best division in the NFL, good probably wont cut it this year

Kind of. Did anyone remember Ryan Lindley attempting 52 passes and throwing 4 INTs against the Rams last year?

I guess when you have a 7th round rookie making his first NFL start, you just have to roll the ball out there and let him win the game for you. :bang:

Our coaching philosophy was so whacked by panic last year.

Anyway, our sacks dropped because Kevin Kolb made his usual mid-season pilgrimage to the injury report. That dude just knew how to attract opposing pass rushers.

our coaches looked like they were TRYING to fail last season. It was awful. This organization is in such a better place right now

Yes. And so did opposing Defensive coordinators. It's the reason the Cards pass blocking appeared to get better the 2nd half of the season. Opponents realized if they gave our QBs enough time to throw the odds were very good they'd get an interception so they stopped pressuring our QBs. :p

More 3 and outs equals less plays equals less sacks ?

I dunno, but Potter and Massie played a heck of a lot better then Batiste and Massie.

Because he never even made the active roster. It's like saying that it's funny how Quan Sturdivant never gets brought up. Why would he be?

didnt DJ young play like a full game at LT? or was it preseason maybe? I remember watching him get annihilated on tv so he played something - guess maybe it was preseason.

DJ Young's failure surprised me. The coaches thought enough of him to bring him up from the practice squad to keep another team from claiming him in 2011. Then he was a total disaster in pre season at LT and was released. I temporarily forgot the bozos responsible for the offensive line didn't know what they were doing. Brief stays with the Browns and Jets but I believe he's out of football now and is so irrelevant he's not even listed on KFFL's free agent list.

indeed. Potter was very impressive stepping in mid-season as a 7th round pick. And Massie, when he made his changes, became a whole new, much better player
