Cardinals put RB Ryan Williams on IR, officially ending his season, and re-sign CB Crezdon Butler

Would have thought they would go for another RB.

We need a RB and we sign a CB. Makes sense. 4-12 here we come. We are going to be the first team in history to win it's first 4 games then lose it's next 12.

I guess Wiz figures that since we will have no running game and Kolb will be too busy counting how many lights are in the stadium our defense will be spending extra time on the field so sign a defensive player.

Let's not jump off a bridge just yet huh? Isn't like our RBs have done anything yet this year.

Exactly and the plus side about the guys that are still available is that they are good in space and thus could be utilized in the screen game if the Cards ever figure out how to use it.

You'll be adjusting your prediction to 5-11 after this week.

Did you see Toler pull his hammy? And Money Mike has been hobbled. We have only 3 healthy corners. Butler is a good move.

What RB, exactly, should we be bringing in that would make us do scary in the running game?

Relax. A trade could be in the works. They needed to fill the spot right now. This does not prevent them from making a move later today or this week. If butler comes in and shows well, it could make another db expendable. Trade bait.

You know, some people were knocking Toler that he faked a injury when he got burned deep last game...bet he didn't.

There is a possibility that we trade Gay or Toler for a RB.

there's a BR story that advocates just that. Gay for Demetress Bell from Philly and then sign Cadillac. Or trade Toler and a pick for Fred Jackson.

I nearly mentioned Jackson myself but he's coming off a knee injury and I don't know how he'd hold up. I guess we'll see him Sunday so the coaches get a chance to evaluate him in person.

He's a terrific receiver too so he's an interesting guy but health is questionable.

I was actually looking for him on an injury list but I haven't found the list yet.

I want to give him the benefit of the doubt but it sure looked iffy the way he pulled up. I said it on the game thread I really want to say he's faking but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

What a lame false equivalence. We don't need a back that would make us "scary", but we could bring in a back who could make us relevant.

Can we make trades at this point in the season?

If so, a trade with Buffalo after we play them - one of our corners (Gay) for one of their RB's (Jackson or Choice) might make sense.

Fred Jackson would be an intersting move as he works well in the passing game. My concern is what will be the cost for a back like Fred Jackson or Ben Tate. Lets not sell the farm for a bad fit just because we are desperate.
