Tempe, AZ – The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that tickets for six of the 10 home games in the inaugural season at Cardinals Stadium have completely sold out on the first day of single-game ticket sales.

The sold out games include the stadium’s grand-opening event, the August 12th preseason game against the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers. The other five are the regular season games vs. San Francisco (September 10), Kansas City (October 8), Chicago (October 16), Dallas (November 12), and Denver (December 17).

A limited number of tickets remain for the preseason game vs. Denver (August 31) and regular season games against St. Louis (September 24), Detroit (November 19), and Seattle (December 10). Fans can purchase tickets to those games on-line at www.ticketmaster.com, at participating Arizona Ticketmaster ticket centers, or by phone at 480-784-4444. Any tickets that remain on Monday will also be available at the Cardinals Tempe training facility box office.

Single-game tickets went on sale today at 10:00 a.m. for fans in the state of Arizona and to all others beginning at noon.

The team sold out its allotment of season tickets in May but set aside 3,000 tickets (approximately 5% of capacity) for each of its 10 home games. The first opportunity to purchase those tickets went to fans on the season ticket waiting list. Fans who placed a deposit towards the purchase of future season tickets were able to buy the same number of individual game tickets for 2006.

Wow! A pre-season game sold out? That's unheard of in these parts.

I agree. The game is late in the year too and could be hugely important. Seattle just doesn't get any love. As of ten minutes ago (1:30 pm) you can still get 2 seats in 418 on Ticketmaster. People just don't care about Seattle. Superbowl runner up or not.

As of yesterday after the announcement of the additional sellouts, an unscientific check of www.ticketmaster.com reveals that in the lower level, there are only single tickets remaining to see the Lions while in the upper level, fairly decent seats are readily available.

I have no doubt that this game will eventually sell out, but it probably won't happen in the next day or two.

Wow. I wonder if the DET game will sell out. That's when they are unveiling the Josh McCown statue in Pete Kendall Square.

Just checked ticketmaster to see if tickets still available on Detroit and it said they didn't have 2 available at all. I'm thinking this thing must be teetering on the verge if not completely sold out already.

I just tried it again. It says no tickets available if I ask it to look for two at any price. When I asked it to look for a single ticket it offered a $55 ticket in 407. So apparently thats what they are down to. Looks like the regular season will sell out for sure. Only thing that might not will be that Denver preseason, which quite honestly, game 4 of preseason is a pretty big waste of time. Starters play little if at all. But who knows, maybe they'll even manage to sell all of those.

That Denver preseason game will be sweet...Leinart vs. Cutler.

More like Rohan Davey vs. Bradlee Van Pelt.
