I like it. It feels like these signings are coming in when they're supposed to.

Any word on the #s?

I'm very excited about Calais Campbell. I think that he might take a year or two of development, but this kid's ceiling is high.

I'm still iffy on him he just seemed to play too high when I saw him play. The athletic ability is certainly there it could be just a coaching thing I hope so but he just seemed to be one of those guys who often took himself out of plays by just being too easy to knock aside.

I am glad we signed him though it's nice to be with the curve.

Red Hawk, you communist, love you to death. How do you scoop everybody every time on our signings?

Excellent. One to go.

Couldn't agree more. Personally, I think he is better suited for defensive end. 3-4, 4-3, doesn't matter.

I'm so damn pumped to see him in Flag.

Good, because that's the position that he's going to be playing.

I think he'll probably spell Antonio Smith early in the season in pass rush packages. If Berry and Okeafor can stay healthy, he's going to see a lot of man-to-man blocking in those situations.

I also hope that he and DRC can team up to give the Cards at least a threat in special teams packages. Block some damned field goals already!

By the way, if the Cards ever put together an intra league basketball team, they'd be pretty set. Cambell and Leonard Pope would be the bigs, Anquan would be the shooting guard, I bet Antrel Rolle could play point, and you know Adrian Wilson would make a heck of a small forward.

He comes listed as either a DE or DT, depending on what you read. I've read that he was used as both while at Miami. Put on some weight and played DT. However, he is considered a better DE than DT prospect.

Just trying to alleviate your confusion.

It's okay, we all need a little help every now and then.

Loved the last line from PFT's post about the signing:

CARDS INK CALAIS

Posted by Mike Florio on July 21, 2008, 7:31 p.m.
The Arizona Cardinals have announced that they have agreed to terms with Miami defensive end Calais Campbell, a second-round pick in the 2008 draft.
The team’s only remaining unsigned rookie is first-round cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
Campbell was regarded by many draftniks as a potential first-rounder, with some linking him to the Redskins. But the Redskins traded out of round one and no one else drafted him in the opening tour of picks. Then, the Redskins passed over him not once but twice in the second round, taking receiver Devin Thomas and tight end Fred Davis.
Meanwhile, the ‘Skins have given up next year’s second-round pick for defensive end Jason Taylor, who has maybe one or two years left in the tank.
So if the six-foot, eight0inch Campbell becomes a beast, the ‘Skins deserve to be criticized for not taking him when they had their chance.

I thought I read that they would move him inside on third down, which I like a lot. That's disrupting passing lanes big time with that dude in the middle.

He is a visual feast, isn't he? I can totally see him moving inside on third downs. I bet Wiz saw that too when he pulled the trigger in the second round.

I'm psyched.

I thought it would be "hard" to sign Cialis.

Hopefully it's just what the doctor ordered for soft defensive play.

Signing Cialis really gets the blood flowing.

Back in February, I thought Campbell just might be our 1st pick. When he was still on the board in round 2 I was shocked. I think this kid has a chance to be a huge addition to this defense. He could be to the defense as a 2nd rounder as Q is to the offense.

OK, how long before Chris Berman comes up with a nickname for C.C?

"Soupy" seems obvious. Are there others I'm missing?

Campbell delivers some Calais-fornia love to Marc Bulger.

Frank Gore is Calais-fornia dreamin' of a loss of six yards.
