It would also be pretty dumb for a 2nd round player to have a team contract option in his contract so they can keep him for another year for like the minimum.

I agree. Up until the last week he was listed as a FA at the end of the season, but now it has been changed to him signing a 3 year deal with the third year being a team option. I've yet to see anything wrong on the site, so I am believing it's probably correct.
