I always thought he was a bad fit with Dantoni and Amare. Since he likes to have the ball in the same areas as Amare and likes ISO play.

I would love to have Carmelo here. Let the haters come out but Carmelo is a legitimate franchise player and top 10 player in the NBA. You have to surround him with the right pieces though.

I would give up Nash and Gortat or basically anything on our roster for Carmelo but it would have to be a 3 way with New York having Chandler and Lin.

With Carmelo in place you might actually have a chance to at least bring in star FAs like Howard or Williams for a visit.

I can't go there with you on this. Melo fits in places like DET where they want to slow it down and run ISOs. Plus, I don't see how he is a draw unless you are talking to a Camby, Ratliff (prime), or Chandler - guys who don't need the ball to be effective.

Nash for Melo would be all I would do if Nash requested it, but I would not go to him to suggest that. In fact, I'm probably against it.

Melo was doing great in Denver and they were one of the faster teams in the league.

Nash/Gortat

Nash/Hill/Dudley

Nash/Frye/Dudley

I would definitely do pretty much any trade imagineable on our roster except our draft pick. Getting a franchise player and being able to build around that guy is the hardest thing to have in the NBA and Anthony clearly is a franchise player and turns 28 in May. Sure you have to figure out the team around him to play to his strength but you always have to do that with your best player. We will have to do that post-Nash anyway.

well melo is giving haters a lot of ammo right now.....

is this BS or does he really want to be traded? I don't consider myself a hater, more of a realist. and the reality in life is that you can't run away every time things get hard or you will spend your whole life chasing your tale like a dog. that applies even more to professional athletes that have extreme amount of pressure on them.

as far as melo coming to phoenix? doubtful...you have nothing to give for him. and why would you even want melo if he will be demanding a trade in a short period of time when you don't rub his feet the way he likes it?(sarcasm) but if the rumors are true I would not want him playing in dallas that's for sure. he isn't even playing well...

it might work only with a team like orlando if howard wants to go to an organization like the knicks who already have major $$ invested in two guys that our a poor-man's version of dwight.

Melo has no leverage to force his way out of a new team since he is signed long term now.

It is the best solution for Melo and New York to part ways because Amare is untradeable and Amare and Melo in my opinion can not co-exist on a very good team.

unfortunately for phx, Lin pretty much cancels any chance that they would have had for trading nash to NY. unless they have a change of heart. you never know with the knicks organization because they are very unstable.

maybe this opens a door for another team that has something to give NY that they need. honestly NY probably needs shot makers and veteran guys that are tough minded like chandler is. Right now the knicks honestly just need a shrink to counsel their own guys that all seem to be head cases.

and they really just need melo to man up and make shots.

It's funny how people want to make Carmelo Anthony look like he is Antoine Walker. 25ppg on almost 46%FG for his career.
The Knicks have simply collected a terrible combination of talent and D'Antoni is a terrible coach to adapt to anything other than run and gun. They are basically turning Carmelo Antony into a jumpshooter when he is been a player that thrived in the high post most of his career.

If we could get Carmelo for junk, OK. But I wouldn't trade anything of value for him. Warrick, Childress, Lopez, Frye etc. No picks. Not going to happen. NY has damaged Carmelos value, maybe legitimately. Denver improved after Carmelo left. Even if he has been a fairly effecient scorer over his career, he is a ball stopper. That's an easy thing to shut down in the post season, when teams focus more on particular players.

I'd go Dudley/Lopez/Warrick.

Nash-Hill-Melo-Frye-Gortat

Why not....?

Hmm. I hate to say it. I have been so critical of Melo. But the goto type of scorer is exactly what this Suns team needs. Will he play D though?

Call me intrigued but not sold.

They won't trade him though after they finally got rid off D'Antoni.

The Knicks are 4th last in 3pt%. They have no spacing and need Carmelo to space the floor for Amare because both want to play at the elbow. It was never going to work with D'Antonis style.

so this clears things up a lot. he aint going no where. I still wouldn't want him in dallas if it were me. I don't care how many points he can score. I don't think the greatest players in the leauge that win championships run away or ask to leave when things get hard. I still question the truth about him asking to be traded from NY thought because I've heard that was completely false. I don't think melo was running from anything this time. Maybe their team just has some chemistry issues....and that is the fault of management not necessarily melo.

Let's not confuse what the fans want with what Carmelo wants.

Oooooh, we could get the pleasure of going 44-38 every year and watch an boring team with unlikeable players... sign me up!

Only reason I would take Carmelo is to flip him for something of more value, he is one of the most overrated players in history. A glorified Glenn Robinson.

I'd take Carmelo in a trade this summer if NY sent the Suns two first round picks and we send them Childress and Warrick. Carmelo reminds me of Rashard Lewis.

Okay, the Knicks will need to throw Lin into the trade as well. :D

Of course I have been sarcastic in these last two posts but Carmelo is not a player I would covet.

No thanks. I think I would have to stop rooting for the Suns if they brought in Melo, that's how much I dislike watching him play. He's a basketball black hole.
