The Carolina Hurricanes will be taking on the league-leading Washington Capitals (48-17-9) this season in the penultimate matchup between the two clubs.

The Canes are coming off of a 6-4 win over the New York Islanders on Sunday and have won three of their last four games.

Washington is coming off of a 4-3 win over the Boston Bruins Tuesday night, snapping a three-game skid.

While Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin will continue to chase history tonight, Carolina captain Jordan Staal will once again be out of the lineup due to a lower-body injury.
