Here’s a chance to help pick the Upstate high school boys athlete of the week for March 17-23.
The poll will close at 5 p.m. Thursday. Multiple votes are allowed. Coaches are asked to submit nominations. The winner of last week's fan vote was Dorman baseball player Colton Earnhardt.
Amare Anderson, Greer: Anderson was named MVP of the Carolinas Classic all-star basketball game in Wilmington, N.C., featuring top seniors from South Carolina against North Carolina.
Carson Boleman, Southside Christian: Boleman in a 10-0 baseball win against Palmetto homered, doubled, scored twice, drove in four runs and pitched four innings with 11 strikeouts while allowing only one hit and no walks.
Coleman Brown, Dorman: In a pair of baseball wins against Boiling Springs, Brown went 5-for-6 with a home run, two doubles and nine RBIs.
Wallace Cheves, Christ Church: Cheves won the high jump (1.93 meters) and the long jump (6.73 meters) at a 10-team track and field meet held at T.L. Hanna.
Carlos Cordero, T.L. Hanna: Cordero won the 200 meters (24.09) and the 800 meters (2:04.24) in the home meet.
Jeremiah Favorite, Boiling Springs: Favorite won the 100 meters (11.36 seconds) and the 200 meters (22.84) at a seven-team home track and field meet.
Jake Fowler, Byrnes: Fowler had five goals and two assists in a 10-6 lacrosse win against T.L. Hanna.
