Studio: Walt Disney Pictures
Director: John Lasseter
Screenwriter: John Lasseter
Genre: Adventure, Animation, Comedy
MPAA Rating: Not Available

Starring: Paul Newman, Owen Wilson, Bonnie Hunt, “Larry the Cable Guy”, Cheech Marin, George Carlin, Richard Petty, Michael Keaton, Tony Shalhoub, John Ratzenberger, Michael Wallis, Paul Dooley, Jenifer Lewis

Plot Summary: After taking moviegoers magically into the realm of toys, bugs, monsters, fish, and superheroes, the masterful storytellers and technical wizards at Pixar Animation Studios ("The Incredibles," "Finding Nemo," "Monsters, Inc."), and Academy Award®-winning director John Lasseter ("Toy Story," "Toy Story 2," "A Bug's Life"), hit the road with a fast-paced comedy adventure set inside the world of cars. Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson), a hotshot rookie race car driven to succeed, discovers that life is about the journey, not the finish line, when he finds himself unexpectedly detoured in the sleepy Route 66 town of Radiator Springs. On route across the country to the big Piston Cup Championship in California to compete against two seasoned pros, McQueen gets to know the town's offbeat characters –including Sally (a snazzy 2002 Porsche voiced by Bonnie Hunt), Doc Hudson (a 1951 Hudson Hornet with a mysterious past, voiced by Paul Newman), and Mater (a rusty but trusty tow truck voiced by Larry the Cable Guy) – who help him realize that there are more important things than trophies, fame and sponsorship. Fueled with plenty of humor, action, heartfelt drama, and amazing new technical feats, "Cars" is a high octane delight for moviegoers of all ages.

Awesome...I'm so looking forward to taking the kids to this.

Rule Number One: Pixar never lets you down.

Pixar can have my back any time, any day. In a war, in a fight, in Scrabble, in a message board fight, whatever. As long as I know Pixar is behind me, I know I'm going to win. That crew makes awesome movies.

I'm excited to see this! I've never not enjoyed a Pixar film, yet.

I heard this movie has been finished for a while but they delayed the release.... any reason why? I thought I saw a trailer for this like 2 years ago

Hubby's b-day was last Monday & when I asked what he wanted to do, he said he wanted to take the kids to dinner & then see this movie. Totally won brownie points with the kids...and mommy thinks good daddies are a turn on.

Anywho......

LOVED the movie. Definately had adult innuendo & jokes in it, but it was great. We all loved it. Would see it again...never get all the funny stuff in one sitting.

I liked it a great deal. They could have shortened it by a few minutes with a couple of the long driving sequences. I liked the storyline (classic awareness journey) and of course it was visually stunning.

I really loved the personality of the cars...very well done...and putting the eyes in the windshield was brilliant. So much more personality and gave the whole car the aspect of being alive, not just the bottom half.

Finally saw it. Loved the Route 66 connection. Good movie, but probably my least favorite of the Pixar movies.

My 3 year old LOVES this movie. Now he runs around the house, stopping only long enough to point at me and say: "You be Doc. I'm Lightning McQueen." Then he races off again, and I'm supposed to race with him.

If I tell him he's Mater, he starts yelling at me, saying "NO! YOU'RE MATER! DRIVE BACKWARDS, MATER!"

Nope. Cars my fellow friend gets the nod.

No way dude. Not buying it.

I will watch Cars far more times than I have watched Bugs Life. The rest of the Pixar films get much play in my house, but even my kids don't watch Bugs Life very often.
