For many of us, Palmer's level of play here as a Cardinal is certainly not a secret, though, around the rest of the country, Carson gets little to no fanfare. Which, is just so Arizona Cardinal-ish...

But I was thinking, has there ever been a NFL franchise that has brought in, on 2 separate occasions, an "older" QB who 99.9% of the "experts" believed was completely washed up, only to have BOTH of the QB's produce at the highest levels of their careers?
Carson is now 15 & 2 over his last 17 starts. As a Cardinal, his record now sits at 18 & 6!
He has a 63.3% completion % and a TD% of 4.9, to go along with a QB Rating of 89.8!
As a Cardinal, Kurt was much less successful from a wins and losses perspective, putting up a record of 27 & 30. His completion % was 65.1%, a TD% of 4.8 and a QB Rating of 91.9.

I don't know what the rest of this season holds...same for the rest of Palmer's career. But his performance since joining the Cards stands on its' own and ranks at the very top in the entire NFL.
Kurt took us to within 2 mins of winning a Super Bowl. IMHO, Palmer is playing with a much better and deeper team, with far better coaching. Ya never know... ;)

it's funny... yesterday, I kind of dinged one of our own because he was upset that we didn't get much love on a post-game show, but even I was surprised reading cbs, espn, grantland and mmqb, that pretty much EVERYONE in the media is completely ignoring us.

as much as I'd like to read more about us, let 'em keep doing it and allowing us to fly under the radar.

The Cards will be in the Power Rankings at #3 behind the Pats and Packers. We won't be under the radar much longer! Plus, everyone is picking up and playing Palmer in fantasy. I actually played Palmer instead of P Manning. Ended up with about the same amount of total points

My intention with this thread was really to point out how incredibly fortunate this team has been to have not one, but two "left to die" QB's resurrect their careers here in the desert - at Pro Bowl levels... Seriously, has this ever been seen before?

I thought Palmer always played fairly solid in Oakland despite his circumstances. He had a terrible defense and a lack of weapons so his numbers were usually inflated by junk time and probably took a lot more risks than necessary since he was always in catch up mode.

Probably #4: 1) Packers 2) Pats 3) Broncos 4) Cards. No that this is accurate; just what it is.

Good observation and I'll add that both are quality leaders and human beings!

I was watching a segment on ESPN earlier and they were all over Carson Palmer stating that he has to be in the discussion for best quarterback in the NFL of the last 18 games they were comparing him and his numbers to Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. It was during the morning show about the NFL they were doing nothing but praising him giving tons of attention to Carson ..

There is a huge difference in this team with him in there. They're legit.

The only one that I can think of is Steve Young - when he came over from Tampa Bay?

But no, not QB's who came to the same team and resurrect their careers.

Rich Gannon for the Raiders but he was a journeyman for years and then late in his career he started playing great.

Despite any power rankings or otherwise I would also like to see us fly under the radar a bit. I hope people just think it's a fluke or don't take us seriously. It would make doing damage in the playoffs really sweet.

I like how he says "Stay in bounds, stay in bounds." Oh he did. :D

Remember all the threads about who we should get at QB before we got Kolb? I kept saying Palmer, I knew he was good in a bad situation. But I had no idea he'd play this well. Of course without Arians maybe he doesn't.

It is tempting to think though if the Bengals had been willing to move him them at a reasonable cost and we got him instead of Kolb, what might those years have looked like?

Even Herm said he's played against the 2 worst defenses in the NFL but it's not his fault, and he's playing great.
