Case For Marc Bulger

I want pretend I have any idea who the best QB might be for the Cards to sign in free agency. Lots of people are throwing names out there. All I can do is look at the numbers. This guy makes a decent case for us to sign Marc Bulger. He is on a one year contract that expires after this season. He has backed up Joe Flacco who has not missed a game so Bulger did not throw a ball this year. Bulger is a tough guy. He is three time pro bowler with a 62.1 completion percentage. Age 34 the same age as Warner when we signed him. Take a read:

I am not as opposed to Bulger as some are. But unless we drastically improve our O line play we will just be making his wife a widow.

Bulger is washed up. Hasn't had a good season since 2006. Not to mention about the only QB he is more durable than is Pennington (and thats not saying much)--one healthy season in his career. 62% career completion but hasn't topped 60% since 2006.

I have no time to look.... But I would bet that a ton of people said the same about Warner.

Warner had 1 season with more INTs than TDs and never had a season where he threw under 60% (where he had more than 1 start)....Bulger has had 3 straight sub 60% seasons and 3 straight seasons throwing more INTs than TDs. The only things they have in common are the position they play and their ties to the Rams.

I would not mind Marc Bulger being brought in, but he can't be the only one. If we were to sign Bulger, and then trade for another QB (Kolb, Orton, Hill) I would be totally ok with that.

I don't know what all the fuss is, Whiz has another camp and offseason to "fix" DA, it'll be ok and don't forget about Moxie.
