So Verizon is pissing me off right now. My phone isn't working right, for some reason which Verizon can't figure out. So they tell me to call my cell phone insurance company - but they want $50 to send me a replacement and it's not even the model I have. So I am thinking of just buying a new phone, but I can't get the cheap rate at Verizon because I haven't had my now broken phone for two years. So my question, if I were to buy a phone off Ebay or something, would I be able to get my Verizon service on it? Or is do cell services only work on particular phones?

You can get "verizon" phones off of ebay. They'll actually have the Verizon logo, and will work fine.

If not, I think Verizon phones must be CDMA, or TriMode phones to work. I bought one once that didn't say Verizon, but worked with their service.

Well, how long have you been with them? I'd just get a new phone, you should get some sort of deal if you've been with them over 2 years.

Been with Verizon for about 3 years, but only a year with the current phone (two-year contract).

I just ordered the replacement phone through the insurance folks. $50 for an LG VX4400
