Kind of figured this was coming down the pipe, it's been rumored for a few weeks now and apparently it's now official. Will be interesting to see what if any impact it has on UCLA's recruitment of Michigan area players, in particular Alex Legion.

Could hurt UCLA I think Ziegler was the primary bigman coach.

I guess now it gives us the opportunity to hire Kevin Love's or Kyle Singler's HS coach.

:)

One of the hazards of having a successful program.

And as long as Howland is head coach, no problem with the big men. Remember, that is where Howland first made his mark, coaching big men.

Yep, apparently it's Donny Daniels not Ziegler that's the bigman coach. Ziegler was the primary recruiter, got Luc and Aboya.

According to the LA Dailey news neither Marko Spica nor Nikola Dragovic got the necessary score on the SAT. The article says that it's unlikely the NCAA will allow either into UCLA. I'm not clear what they mean unless the rules on foreign kids aren't set in stone? My understanding was they had to get a certain score no matter what. Both reportedly have excellent grades in Serbia and Montenegro but struggle with English. Spica has now made multiple attempts, with Dragovic it was apparently his first.

Too bad, I'd recently heard that Spica was REALLY good, and that if he didn't pass he'd probably wait and file for the NBA draft next year.

I guess it's possible that their grades are good enough that the necessary SAT score is low but it seems pretty clear to me that at least with Spica if he can't get the SAT score, his English isn't going to be good enough to hack the academics at UCLA.

Too bad, he would have been the biggest player on the Bruin roster.
