I'm considering changing from cox to century link and am wondering if anyone has switched? Century claims 12mps?, is download spd or upload spd? Additionally they would be $40.00 a month cheaper with more channels.

I ditched century for cox because they couldnt give me 20mbps like cox could in my neighborhood. If you can get a high enough bandwith for your needs, century link was fine. Not sure about their tv service though.

if they offer 20mbps, century links internet works well. Youll be stuck with direct tv but maybe you already have it.

I only made the switch because they only offered 7mbps in my neighborhood and i needed more to stream throughout the house.

Had multiple issues with Cox being nowhere near the advertised speeds. Switched over to Centurylink (40/20) and it has worked flawlessly for the past 3 months. Typically in the 35-38/15-18 range. And I can't really recall any outages.

That's been my experience as well.
I can't complain about Century Link, very pleased.

My coworker has Century Link & has to work from home on Fridays; he hates it because he says it cuts out ALL the time. He's in Gilbert, in case location plays a part in it.

Century link can be OK if you get their 40/20 because you will eventually have a chance to get prism TV. I have had cox internet all over the valley and now in Vegas and it always has been the most reliable service. It is more expensive usually but you do get what you pay for. Not to mention if you really need it cox now has 150mb service for internet.

Oh if you need a static IP for work etc you have to go cox business but century link offers it with the residential service for a small fee.

I currently have a 25mbps plan and regularly hit 40. I'm in south Chandler.

I had Century Link in Gilbert near Recker/Guadalupe. I lost connection typically once a month, and it was very, very slow.

i tried to check out prism and the only thing I could find was sales pages, nothing that actually says what is so great about it. When they say ditch sattelite and cable, I assume it is off of your wifi connection but they offer no details online.

In Vegas right now I am paying for the 50 Meg Cox service and I regularly get about 65-70 Meg service. I mean if I really wanted it I do have the 150 Meg service available at my house but I don't even scratch the 50 Meg service unless I am downloading.
