A few months ago Brian Dohn said in his Daily News blog that one current player might be transferring and apparently it was Chace.

I'm bummed he didn't play much at all this year but I really liked his potential he's got good size(6'8"), long arms and reasonable jumping ability, can shoot, just a bit slow footed. He wasn't good enough defensively to get on the court much this year but I would have liked to see him stick it out, especially with UCLA's potential depth issues next season.

Good luck to him he hasn't picked a new school yet but whoever it is they're getting a talented kid with 3 years of eligibility left.

Is he white? Sounds perfect for Notre Dame. About 6'8", good shooter, can't jump, slow of foot and poor defensively. If he's a good student, he's our kind of player.

We already have six of those clones on our team. Another would help.

No Chace is black, he was the LA City POY his senior year at Fairfax. Rumor is he might go to Pepperdine.

I like the kid but he has the unfortunate situation where UCLA was recruiting 3 kids at once and decided to offer Stanback and not the other 2, Stanback took the offer and committed. The other 2 were Austin Daye who had grade issues but had a nice freshman year at Gonzaga, and some kid named James Harden who of course was brilliant for ASU. So a lot of UCLA fans are kind of bummed not only because Stanback is leaving but because they know his commitment to UCLA ended the recruitment of Daye and Harden who are obviously much better players in hindsight. No guarantee UCLA would have got either Daye or Harden of course.

Chace is the nephew or cousin of Isiah Stanback who played QB at UW a few years ago.
