WICHITA, Kan. — The Texas Tech basketball team will be without third-leading scorer Chance McMillian to open March Madness.
Texas Tech officially ruled McMillian out for the first-round NCAA Tournament game against UNC Wilmington with an upper-body injury. It is the second game in a row McMillian has missed after coming out of last week's Big 12 Conference tournament quarterfinals against Baylor. He did not return for that game and missed the semifinals against Arizona.

Head coach Grant McCasland and McMillian said he would be a game-time decision. McMillian went through the first portion of the team's open practice period but was limited to light shooting.
The Red Raiders will get Darrion Williams back for tonight's game against the Seahawks. He also missed the Arizona game with a right leg injury.
McMillian is averaging 14.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game this season while shooting 43.4% from 3-point range.
