That is one of the most analytical reads of seen. Somebody did their homework. I still love Warmack. I feel like if Cards go with Warmack then they need to go all out and grab another punisher in the 2nd. Warmack by himself would make a difference but for the Cards to be a truly dominant run team, they would need more than Warmack.

Why is that?

There are 5 OL's (Joeckel, Fisher, Lane Johnson, Warmack and Cooper) who could be drafted before we draft at #7. Unlikely? Yes. Impossible? No (There could be a run on offensive linemen and they could all be gone by the time we pick).

What I mean is one of Warmack/Cooper will be there at #7. I'm 99.9999999% sure two Guards won't go in the top 6.

Love Warmack he's the guy to draft IMO ahead of Fischer, Johnson and Cooper. Fisher and Johnson need to thank Lewan and Matthews for going back to school. When the season ended nobody was talking about either of those guys.

Its not very often you get a chance to draft a guy who could be the best player in the NFL at his position for the next decade. I two players I want in this first round are either Jarvis Jones or Warmack.

considering 99.9999999% of the board and most NFL experts think drafting a guard that early is a stretch and a reach you are more likely 100% correct.

i remember all the hubub about drafting Decastro last year even at 13 and most experts said that was too high for a Guard.

Different player and draft. Both Warmack and Cooper are seen as better prospects than DeCastro. In last year's draft both Guards would fall as well.

And Mayock said Warmack is the best player in the draft and him going top 10 isn't a reach.

He'll still be 21 his rookie year. FF a couple years and pencil him in as all pro. I'm as sure of it as you are Geno. ;)

Bunk. Decastro was talked a bout as a dure fire all pro at guard too and considered about as big a lick as there is in a player regardless of position. you show me one thing that says either are better than Decastro as prodpects at G???

BTW since youre using Mayock he also considers Geno a top 10 talent ;)

Everything I have seen says Warmack is by far better than DeCastro that's not a knock on Decastro but it's more about Warmack being that special CBS Sports has Warmack as the #2 overall prospect in this draft. The article in the first post said Warmack was better for Christ sakes.

A freaking blogger from turn on the jets?? Umm OK!! More power to you!

It was a point. The poster said find me one thing that says Warmack is better than Decastro when in the opening post there was a piece that said that exact same thing and whatever that man's position is it was clearly a very intelligent article. Like I said I'm not knocking Decastro I really liked him coming out of school and think he's going to be a hell of a player but I do think Warmack is special.

Todd McShay has described Chance Warmack as the best interior lineman he has evaluated in the last decade, the greatest prospect since Steve Hutchinson in 2001, and he is absolutely right. Most of you should be aware of Chance Warmack, Alabama are on TV pretty much every week and you will have a chance to see him again in the national title game

http://seahawksdraftblog.com/week-three-thoughts-chance-warmack-is-a-top-ten-talent

Chance Warmack is going to walk into the NFL and be one of the best guards in the league straight away. Within a year, he could be the best guard in the league.

I'm sure I could find more, but these are what I found in a bout 5 minutes.

I am not a big fan of guards (or safeties for that matter) in the top ten.

That being said:

1. Warmack does seem like a sure fire top 5 at his position kind of player
2. The draft thins out really quickly -- after four players it seems
3. New rookie wage scale makes taking a guard high more palatable.

Finally-- when I think about the philosophies in SF and Seattle, getting a guy who can set a power running game and make life miserable for, lets say, Patrick Willis two times a year appeals to me at a certain level.

This was the most beautifully written technical piece about offensive linemen that I have ever read. The author, (whomever it was), has a keen knowledge of offensive guard play, and an even better sense of evaluation between different types. I truly wish I knew who the author was.

Most of you know that I have been waffling between a Pass Rusher, and an O-Lineman. I am now convinced that Chance Warmac is the safest pick that the Cards could make at the #7 pick in the entire draft this year. He would, without a doubt, help to solidify this offensive line for a very long time to come. I love that the author has gone on record as saying he is the best interior lineman to enter the NFL since Hutchinson. That is priceless to me, and the author has done or said nothing that would leave me with any doubt about that claim. In my opinion, this is as good an analysis of play, and as good an evaluation as any I have ever read concerning ANY offensive lineman. The author seems to be quite qualified to make both the analysis, and the evaluation of these two player's performance.

I certainly hope that Warmac is available to us at the #7 pick, because I still recall how much Hutchinson's play at guard meant to Seattle while he was there. He was the most dominant OG I have ever seen, and the most technically sound. I truly believe at this time, that Warmac is the safest pick that the Cards could take in this year's draft.

QB - Too expensive.

RB - Not durable enough.

FB - Dinosaurs

WR - Dime a dozen/Get one later

TE - 'Tweeners (too small for OT; to slow for WR)

OT - Not ready to plug and play.

OG - Lack 1st round talent

OC - Guards who can pass backward thru their legs

DE - DT or OLB wannabees

DT - Endurance and motor risks

LB - Usually lost in space

CB - Either they can run but not hit or can hit but are too slow.

S. - CB's who lack athleticism

K or P - Sportswriters who think they're athletes.

Conclusion - Don't draft anyone. Just curl up into a fetal position in the War Room, suck your thumb and don't draft anybody.
