The Chargers are re-signing safety Tony Jefferson, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
It is a one-year deal for Jefferson.
Jefferson was signed by Los Angeles last offseason.
Jefferson went from being retired and serving as a scouting intern for the Ravens to returning to the NFL and making plays for the Chargers every time he was on the field, including the big forced and recovered fumble in the playoff game against the Texans.
The 33-year-old Jefferson appeared in eight games (four starts) and finished with 27 tackles and a tackle for loss.
With Jefferson staying in Los Angeles, the safety room is set with him, Derwin James, Alohi Gilman, and Elijah Molden.
