Chargers TE Gates inactive vs 49ers (AP)

San Diego Chargers star tight end Antonio Gates is inactive for Thursday night's game against San Francisco because of a painful tear in the plantar fascia in his right foot. Gates will sit out for the fourth time in six games. Among the other Chargers inactives are linebacker Larry English, right guard Louis Vasquez and wide receiver Malcom Floyd.
