Star tight end Antonio Gates is inactive for Monday night's game against the Denver Broncos with a painful torn plantar fascia in his right foot. Gates also missed a game at Houston on Nov. 7 with the injury. Also inactive for the Chargers are rookie running back Ryan Mathews, wide receiver Legedu Naanee and backup tight end Kris Wilson.
