CBS March Madness studio analyst Charles Barkley said before the start of Friday night's NCAA tournament Round of 64 game between the Xavier Musketeers and the Illinois Fighting Illini in Milwaukee that he expects Xavier to advance past Illinois and beat the winner of the Kentucky-Troy game to reach the Sweet 16.

"(Xavier) is one of my sleeper teams," Barkley said during halftime of the UK-Troy game. "I've got them going to next weekend. I love Sean Miller. … He's a terrific (Xs-and-Os) guy. I expect them to win tonight. And I expect them to win Sunday too."

Xavier and Illinois are meeting in the NCAA tournament for the first time. The two teams last met during the 2018-19 season in the Maui Invitational, with the Musketeers defeating the Illini, 83-74, in November 2018.

Earlier this week, the Muskies rallied past the Texas Longhorns in the First Four in Dayton.
