Hard for me to read the Kyler Murray thread and see everyone realise Kyler is a mid QB and then come over here and blame MHJ for having mid stats.
Both Olave and Garrett Williams came out of OSU with mid (or worse) QB's and put up 1000 yards seasons, but they were instantly the #1 target for those QB's. None of them had a Trey McBride to deal with.
For the reasons I explained above, you'd love to play TE with a QB like Kyler. A TE that can leak out into soft zones like Trey is gravy for a QB like Kyler that is a poor timing QB, and Kyler lives in that 10 yards zone (mostly 8 yards if being honest) that Trey is operating in.
MHJ is generally operating outside the numbers and well beyond 10 yards, both areas that are very low productivity for Kyler.
