Who will wear the No. 7 jersey this season for the Indianapolis Colts?

Currently, that number has been worn for the last few seasons by kicker Matt Gay. However, new free-agent cornerback Charvarius Ward wore that number during his time with the San Francisco 49ers.

At this time, according to the team site, Ward does not have a number yet, but the No. 7 on him in Colts' blue is sharp.

We don't know how committed Ward is to continuing to wear the No. 7, either. At previous stops, he's made number changes. In college at Middle Tennessee State, Ward wore No. 2. With the Kansas City Chiefs, he was No. 35 before wearing No. 7 with the 49ers.

With Ward signing a three-year deal to join the Colts worth $54 million, including $27 million guaranteed, he might be able to convince Gay to loan him No. 7 for a fee, which is customary around the NFL.
