The first wave of free agency is in the books, and the Chicago Bears have added a handful of new players to the roster.
General manager Ryan Poles made some big moves to improve the roster this offseason, including trading for guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson. Chicago also signed center Drew Dalman, defensive tackle Grady Jarrett and defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo while adding depth at skill positions including with tight end Durham Smythe and receivers Olamide Zaccheaus and Devin Duvernay.
Where things currently stand after the first wave of free agency, the Bears have $16.04 million in cap space in 2025, which now ranks 27th in the NFL.
Here’s a look at the basic contracts for the Bears' new additions during the first wave of free agency:

Contract details: Signed a five-year, $80 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs with a $17 million signing bonus and $46.89 million guaranteed. In 2025, Thuney will earn a base salary of $15.5 million and a workout bonus of $500,000.
2025 cap hit: $16 million
Contract details: Signed a three-year, $52.5 million contract with the Chicago Bears with $10.5 million signing bonus and $29.75 million guaranteed. In 2025, his base salary is $7 million with a signing bonus of $10.5 million.
2025 cap hit: $10.5 million
Contract details: Signed a three-year contract worth $42 million with $6 million signing bonus and $28 million guaranteed. In 2025, his base salary is $11 million with a signing bonus of $6 million and workout bonus of $235,000.
2025 cap hit: $13.64 million
Contract details: Signed a three-year contract worth $42.75 million with a $12 million signing bonus and $27.25 million guaranteed. In 2025, his base salary is $2.25 million with a prorated signing bonus of $4 million.
2025 cap hit: $7 million
Contract details: Signed a three-year contract worth $48 million with $13.5 million signing bonus and $32 million guaranteed. In 2024, his base salary is $3 million with a signing bonus of $13.5 million and workout bonus of $500,000.
2025 cap hit: $8 million
Contract details: Signed a one-year contract worth $2.5 million with $1 million signing bonus and $1.5 million guaranteed. In 2025, his base salary is $1.68 million with a signing bonus of $500,000 and workout bonus of $150,000.
