There is a possibility Shaquille O’Neal could be in a Chicago Bulls uniform next season. In a rather surprising discovery, the Phoenix Suns and Bulls plan on engaging in trade talks that could send the future hall of fame center to Chicago, as soon as teams are allowed to talk after the playoffs. Suns GM Steve Kerr is looking to deal Shaq and is said to be interested in Loul Deng. The Suns would like to move the aging center mainly because he has slowed the up-tempo Suns down drastically. They feel Deng could bring some young, athletic energy back to the team. The Suns also feel Deng could still live up to his potential and contract if he can stay healthy

Whoever wrote that obviously didn't pay attention to the Sun's offensive output. Shaq didn't slow the Suns down and managed to give them an inside half court game they didn't have before at the same time. Sheesh.

At this point if you could get any halfway decent player for Shaq you would have to consider. Although would Loul be more valuable then the Shaq's expiring contract? Also, the numbers don't add up.

OK, just did this trade on ESPN trade machine. This trade would put the Bulls $15 million over the salary cap. Which means the Bulls would be trading alot more then Loul or there would have to be another team involved.

I say bull to the Bull's trade. To even make the numbers work it would have to be something like:

Brad Miller - C
Luol Deng - SF
D.Nelson - SG
L.Johnson - PF

I thought once a team's season has ended they are allowed to negotiate trades with other teams whose season has also ended. So I don't believe the Suns and the Bulls couldn't do a trade right now if there was anything to it. Anyway, that is my recollection.

I didn't think you can officially discuss trades until the season is over. Trade deadline passed.

Deng, Miller and Tyrus Thomas for Shaq and Alanzo Tucker works salarywise.

Whether the deal is worthwhile for either team is a different discussion.

Are you kidding? I don't think the Suns could say yes fast enough.

In a van...down by the river.
Yeah i think we'd have to pull the trigger on this deal. It doesn't fire me up either, but you get 2 young players that can be relied upon to compete with some upside....plus Miller only has 1 yr left on his deal at $11.3 mill

Miller expires same time as O'Neal.
Deng has lost his spot with Salmons playing well.

The important bit for the Suns is that they get another big man next to Stoudemire, if they choose to keep him.
Then everyone expires after next season anyways.

I still rather trade for Noah, Thomas, Deng.... Noah looks like the next Camby.

Noah is not going anywhere. He is a playoff presence you need.

I could see Thomas, Deng, Tsolosha for Shaq Alando

I don't think the Suns are stupid enough to pay Deng that money, were he a FA next year. For those who think Amare at 17mil is overpaid, Deng at 14 mil is way more overpaid, given that he never developed any goto moves and is injury prone. Acquire Deng would be more like a salary dump for Bulls, we need to be compensated like Sonics got from us for KT and more!

While Brad Miller is certainly aging I think he would be a nice fit alongside Amare. Unfortunately he's not a great defender, so our interior defense would still be poor, but on the offensive end his ability to step away from the hoop would help. It would allow Amare to operate in his slashing to the paint mode. Id certainly do a deal thats Deng+Miller for Shaq.

I think Shaq's expiring contract is worth more than an overpaid Loul Deng and Brad Miller.

Thumbs down!

First off, I think it is a terrible trade for Chicago because it stunts the growth of Noah and I am happy with him. Next, since my guess is that Gordon will not be back, Salmons will move the the 2 spot and Deng will take back the 3 until be sees the court again and hurts something else. Lastly, Brad Miller will most likely get a extension from Chicago to keep doing what he did at the end of last year.

It should be to a competent front office.

I'm not saying I'm for trading shaq. But, if we do trade him near the deadline, that is the approach we need to take when discussing terms with other teams.

From all the sources I've read, the Bulls want to keep Gordon and leave Deng expendable because of Salmons.

Perfect. It's best for both sides not to do this trade indeed.:D

Salary wise, Shaq for Miller + Deng works straight up.

Wait a second, ...

C: Shaq
PF: Noah
SF: Salmons
SG: Gordon
PG: Rose

Hinrich and Thomas lead the reserves.

Dont you realise this team is good enough to battle anyone?
