The Kansas City Chiefs plan to start former second round pick Kingsley Suamataia at left guard in 2025. Suamataia’s impressive athleticism earns him time to develop in a starting role, but several guard prospects in the 2025 NFL draft offer more aggressive approaches to establishing run lanes. As Kansas City’s offense continues to evolve, the team should consider adding competition for the left guard role.

Texas Tech Red Raiders guard Caleb Rogers is one of the most violent and versatile offensive linemen in the 2025 class. He started at both tackle and guard spots across his college career, amassing more than 4,300 snaps. Rogers is a savvy veteran with a relentless motor, proven leadership and freakish explosiveness and movement skills.

Caleb Rogers is just outside of my top 100. He needs to play more balanced in the run game, but man he's a fun watch. #NFLDraft#NFLDraft2025#2025NFLDraftpic.twitter.com/vDDZLWvgJy

Rogers uses his wide base and impressive core strength to grind down power rushers. He frequently refits his hands and adjusts his positioning to stay square to the defender. Rogers’ hand strength pops as he latches onto defenders and locks them in place.

Rogers lacks ideal arm length, which allows defenders to access his chest. He runs into some issues against power rushers. To improve in pass protection, he needs to learn more hand counters, polish his snatch-trap and avoid extending his chest over his knees while initiating contact.

Rogers thrives in the run game. He generates some movement at the point of attack and is a menace on combo blocks. His quickness and range make him a versatile blocker capable of pulling off reach blocks or long pulls. Rogers is a physical finisher who plays through the whistle and never turns down an opportunity to pancake a defender.

Rogers is a borderline top 100 selection who could slip into the fourth round. His experience playing across the offensive line and creating massive lanes in the ground game for Tahj Brooks could make him an ideal long-term partner for Trey Smith If the Chiefs aren’t confident in Suamataia.
