There wasn't much that went wrong for the Cincinnati Reds during their 14-3 rout of the Texas Rangers Monday night at Great American Ball Park.

But Reds' fans held their breath when first baseman Christian Encarnacion-Strand's right hand was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the 6th inning by the Rangers' Gerson Garabito with the Reds leading 9-0. Encarnacion-Strand left the game at the end of the inning, after coming around to score on a Jake Fraley single.

Fortunately, the Reds learned after Monday's game that X-rays on Encarnacion-Strand's hand were negative.

Encarnacion-Strand played in just 29 games last season because he was hit on the wrist by then-Rangers pitcher Michael Lorenzen. He underwent surgery in June.

Encarnacion-Strand walked earlier in the game. He's batting .286 with a home run so far this season.
