One is $35, the other is $99.

Need to get one or the other to be able to watch HBOgo on the TV.

Pros/Cons of either?

We would be streaming from either an iPad or an iPhone.

I use Roku. It had the hbo go app. xbox 360 does too.

My buddy swears by apple tv but i dont have it, cant comment on it. Rokus can be found for $50 to $100.

Chromecast is supposed to be good too.

Roku is the market leader though, I have 4 in my house, they are awesome.

Also, I see Rokus on deal websites all the time for reduced prices.

You should be streaming over wifi through a roku, not using your apple products and flipping it to the tv. better quality this way.

I have a chromecast. It is great. I think apple TV its more of a standalone box like the Roku where you can't use the chromecast without a tablet, phone, or computer to cast to it.

Love my chromecast. Stream whatever I want from my phone, tablet, or computer. It has plenty of apps like netflix and hbogo.

I have 3 Apple tvs throughout my house and love them. I have all Mac computer, phones, tablets, so thats really why I stuck to Apple TV. No problems here, but can't comment on the others. Guessing you really can't go wrong with any of them by all good comments for all.
