GOODYEAR, Arizona – The Cincinnati Reds have signed catcher Jose Trevino to a three-year, $14.925 million contract extension, sources confirmed Thursday.

An exceptional receiver who has earned raves from his manager and pitchers this spring, Trevino opened camp as the backup to Tyler Stephenson but will open the season as the Reds starter as Stephenson works his way back from an oblique injury.
