Clemson men’s basketball team is seeing another departure, as freshman forward/center Jackson Roberts has entered the transfer portal, according to reports.Roberts, a 6-foot-11, 247-pound walk-on from Tampa, Florida, spent his first season with the Tigers but saw limited action. He appeared in four games, totaling just under four minutes on the court. In that time, he attempted one shot and grabbed one rebound.
A product of IMG Academy, Roberts committed to Clemson last June, bringing size and potential to the program. However, with playing opportunities scarce in his first year, he has opted to explore other options.
His departure marks the fourth scholarship player to leave the program since Clemson’s season ended in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. He joins fellow transfers Asa Thomas, Del Jones, and Chauncey Wiggins in seeking new opportunities elsewhere.
With multiple roster spots now open, Clemson’s coaching staff will have key decisions to make as they look to reshape the team heading into next season.
