Our Arkansas Head Coach Bobby Petrino had a wreck on his motorcycle Sunday night. Cracked a C-2 vertebrae and broke 4 ribs. We are in the midst of Spring Football practice. He looked like hell on TV with his face all banged up and with a neck brace but showed up to watch practice the day after. Asked if he would continue to ride his Hog he said he would consider that later. Meantime his brother Paul who is the OC will run things for the next week.

The Arkansas QB Taylor chose not to enter the draft this year. He should be a first round pick next year and really looks super sharp this spring. He will, as usual, get to face LSU and Alabama this year as they are in our western division. I think he will likely be the best QB in the SEC this year. Could be a top 10 in the draft. He is that good. 6'4" & around 245 with an accurate canon arm who works out of a pro offensive set and is a pocket type mobile QB. Yes I am a homer.

People and their motorcycles. They gov't should impose a huge tax on motorcycles like they do on cigarettes and beer, and help fund the healthcare plan.

Or prosecute the idiots that make left turns in front of them.

Or the deer that run out in front of them. Or the rain that makes them slide. I've seen the results of enough motorcycle accidents to last me a lifetime. I'm not even suggesting that its the riders fault, just that, when there is an accident involving a motorcycle, that person is 100 times more likely to be killed or severely injured than if they had been in a car.

I ride horses with no helmet, both are dangerous, both are hella fun for the soul. I've never gone with out a helmet on a street legal motorcycle, not even to the corner store.

I've seen bad car, bike, motorcycle, and airplane wrecks but that has never stopped me from using those forms of transportation. Good thing Coach P didn't hurt himself standing on the sidelines, we would have to outlaw that too. Matter of fact, people get hurt in cars too. Do you wear a helmet in your car, that would be safer? Have you sold your car yet, or is that a risk you choose to take in spite of the fact that statistically you would be safer walking? Matter of fact, you might be safest just staying inside and playing video games. I'm done. :D

Arkansas put football coach Bobby Petrino on paid leave Thursday after he failed to disclose he had been riding with a female employee half his age when his motorcycle skidded off the road over the weekend.

Petrino apologized and said he had been concerned about protecting his family and keeping an “inappropriate relationship from becoming public.”

After the way he left the Falcons, and now this, it's hard to believe that Mr. Petrino has a great deal of integrity...

That being said, I still wish him a solid recovery, everyone makes mistakes. Maybe this will be a good wake up call for him.

As an aside, It's been fun watching Arkansas the last couple seasons - some of the funner SEC games to catch in my opinion.

Is that what a mistress is called in Arkansas?

She certainly wouldn't be called "hog" in my book. In some ways, it's a mystery why someone that good looking would go for Petrino when he's twice her age. On the other hand, it's probably how she got her job.

Ding ding ding. A guy who is cheating on his wife would have no qualms about creating a job for his mistress.

If he had a passenger, has there been any reports as to whether she was injured ? and if so how badly?

She looks very Secretary-esk...probably just needed a ride to work. He was probably just doing her a favor.

Tyler Wilson, I've been touting the guy for 2 years, even though he's only started 1. Ever since I saw him throw in the Auburn game in 2010, he's been my choice for the Cards future QB. I'd take him over Barkley any day.

From ESPN:

The police report said Petrino was riding with Dorrell when he lost control of his motorcycle. Dorrell said in the report that she wasn't sure what caused the accident, during which Petrino was unable to maneuver a turn and laid the motorcycle down on its left side while sliding off a rural, two-lane highway about 20 miles southeast of Fayetteville.

Petrino said in the report that wind and sun caused the accident. The police report said Petrino and Dorrell were taken by a passer-by to an intersection in southeast Fayetteville, where a state police officer took Petrino to the hospital.

The police report said Dorrell wasn't taken to a hospital, and that she was dropped off at her vehicle, which was parked at the intersection. State police spokesman Bill Sadler said Petrino didn't try to hide Dorrell's part in the accident when questioned on Tuesday.

This Petrino thing has grown into a monster. Bobby has admitted he had a 25 year old great looking lady who he had recently hired on the motorcycle with him when he wrecked. She did not have a scratch and he looked like a 18 wheeler had run over him. She was engaged to the Arkansas swimming coach. He has admitted to having an affair with her. The motorcycle was given to Bobby by his wife for his birthday. The head man Jeff Long has suspended Patrino with pay while he sorts this thing out. He may be fired or it may be something else. One can only imagine what his wife thinks. He has had two seasons in a row with over 10 wins and big bowl games and this season probably has the best team of all. Talk about dumb. Fayetteville is a small town and Bobby Patrino is as recognizable as Obama so what possessed him to think he was invisible all of a sudden. I guess a 25 year old looker can move mountains. Stay tuned as we will find out this week his fate. Bill Clinton as our President did much worse and went on to a second term so anything is possible. Last year Patrino singed a new 7 year contract with pay of around 4 million + a year. He has been the most successful coach we have had in many decades and our team would likely be the favorite to win the division this year. Oh yes, his brother is the Offensive Coordinator. It would be hard to dream up this story but it would be hard to dream up the Clinton/Monica or Kennedy/Marlyn Monroe stories. I do not know how this story is playing out of state but it is the story of the year here in Arkansas. What doe this all have to do with football? I would think in his contract he must have violated some policy such as hiring a girl he was having an affair with so he could lose 20 million + dollars and a career? The morale here is stay off motorcycles, with 25 year old lookers engaged to one of your acquaintances after signing a monster 7 year contract and with one of the top 10 teams in the nation. Bobby shoud reread the story of Bill Clinton and John Kennedy. He could also read "Sex For Dummies".

Friends of mine that grew up with the Petrino boys in Montana say that they have always been Grade-A *******s, FWIW.

Always felt they were untouchable - could do no wrong. So it looks like nothing has changed.
