Not much to talk about this week as we wait to see LT play...so how about, which coaches do you think get fired...and should they?

I've got 8, but I think we'll only see 5 this year. I've listed them in order I think are most likely to depart.

Definitely Gone:
1. Jets-Rex Ryan. Whatever photos he used to return in 2014 wont be enough to save him for 2015.
2. Raiders-Tony Sparano. Hope he remembers where all the footballs he's buried this year are located.
3. San Fran- Jim Harbaugh. Hopefully it takes them another decade to find a decent coach. They will regret this decision forever.

Unlikely to remain:
4. Tenn - Ken Whizenhut. Does any coach have as many long losing streaks on their resume? Titans cut bait and move on after only one year of, "It's the players, not the system."
5. Giants - Tom Coughlin - Likely to "retire". Hard to fathom he was in the running here vs Denny Green. An impressive run, and will garner some HOF consideration. (Hope he doesn't pull a BA and un-retire to San Francisco)
6. Atlanta - Mike Smith. If they stumble into the play-offs, he may wind up keeping his job.

Coin Flip:
7. Chicago - Everyone's calling for Trestman's head in Chicago, but I think he's safe. Cutler's total fall from grace probably saves him for one more year. Likely to be the last direct from CFL to NFL coach we'll see in a LONG time.
8.Washington - Jay Gruden - Probably safe, but Snyder's got more money invested in Bob (RG3) than he does in (Needs to learn when to remain Silent) Jay. If he thinks he's got a shot at Harbaugh, Gruden's looking for an OC job again.

Capital Card has covered it pretty well. Here are 3 more that will be on a short leash next year if they survive the upcoming Black Monday:

1. Jacksonville - Gus Bradley. This is his 2nd year and they haven't been competitive.

2. Tampa Bay - Lovie Smith. Just finished a disastrous first year.

3. St louis Rams - Jeff Fisher . Everyone says Rams are getting better but this is his 3rd year and they will be in last place in the NFL West again.

I think Whis will get another year in Tennessee.

Jay Glazer had a conniption fit when this was brought up by Rich Eisen today. It would cost the Saints 24 million to dump him, and after one bad year. Glazer says no way no how he gets dumped. I tend to agree he should go if it weren't for the $.

I had no idea about the $ involved. I was just going on an observation of how they looked this year. Something wasn't right. Of course, they could just scapegoat Rob Ryan.. but I have no clue about his contract situation either.

I think Trestman is done in Chicago and that Todd Haley may get a long look there. Either way, he may be high on the list to get a job this year with the job he has done with Pitts offense.

Anyone who gets a job other than Bowles is fine with me. I want Bowles to get a HC job but not until 2016.

Bowles won't be able to interview until the Cards are eliminated from the playoffs. Since the Cards will a wild card playoff team, he won't be able to interview that first week after the regular season.

Note: These are the NFL league rules

My gut feeling is now saying to me that after the 2017 season Todd Bowles will become the next Cardinals Head Coach , possibly sooner if BA gets another ring prior to 2017 .

Interesting that you have Whiz as your number #4 - I think the majority of fans would be happy to replace Whiz - they can't believe how much worse the team is playing this year, when they haven't been good for a decade. But a one and done is pretty rare, so I would be surprised unless they have someone in mind.

I still can't believe Harbaugh is on this list - ridiculous.

I think Rex and Trestman are the only two that "should" be fired this year.

Chicago GM Phil Emory went battle for Trestman while most of the Bears front office wanted BA. I don't think he can fire him. He's got to defend that decision as long as possible. Cutler is being scape-goated and his play this year does nothing to deflect that. My buddy thinks Phil is going to be fired too. I can't see that happening as he's only been there for three years. Those guys tend to get lots of opportunities to adjust, and the McKaskey family tend to be pretty loyal. If it does happen though, the Bears will fire everyone, Trestman included.

Oakland is going to push hard for Harbaugh, and they can't do it while they have a coach. If they don't get him, there are a dozen other coaches they can replace Tony Sporano with.

Someone mentioned Jax above. Frankly, I didn't even consider them. Their problems go way beyond coaching staff - I suspect some stability with Gus Bradley may ultimately do them the most good. Much like ASU Hoops with Herb Sendek, they aren't in a position to attract much of an improvement.

Then there is Whiz.... one and done doesn't happen much, but they've lost, what 9 in a row now, the last few to the bottom feeders of the league? That is the kind of leadership that threatens ticket sales. He'll may ultimately get another year, but I wouldn't wager any amount of money on it.

Are you talking about Cardinals assistants, or NFL wide?

We want to hire Jim Harbaugh: Dolphins, Jets, Giants, Bears & Raiders

Ron Rivera and Mike Smith

I'm seeing an unlucky seven this year.

I'm not at all saying I want this to happen, but I do think it's a possibility: if Rex Ryan gets fired the talk is he'll be a DC somewhere, and if we lose Bowles... How interested is BA in hiring Rex, if at all? My feeling is BA will promote from within but I've no idea who that would be or if anyone is qualified. Can the team handle two talkers like BA and Rex? Bowles was the perfect compliment to BA. I started thinking about this several games ago and hate the thought, although I do think Rex is a good DC.

Was reading an article on CBS sports, with stats about just how awful Tennessee has been this year. They've lost something like 8 or 9 games this year when facing teams with a losing record after coming off yet another loss. That's hard to do. And it's not like these teams got new life after playing Tennessee, no, they returned to losing after beating them.

I hope they ditch Harbaugh because it's so monumentally stupid and they're in our division and I happen to hate them.

I see 3 to 5 openings this offseason, which is fewer than usual.

For sure: SF, Oakland, NY Jets;

Probable: Chicago

Possible: Atlanta

I'm really hoping Atlanta beats the Panthers on Sunday and Mike Smith saves his job. That is far and away the best possible opening, even better than the Niners IMO. I could see Todd Bowles taking that job because the franchise QB is in place and the ownership is excellent. If Smith goes in Atlanta, they may very well let the GM go as well.

This started when he brought in Josh McClown to be his starting QB.

Tennessee has lost more on offense than any team could realistically hope to overcome. Both tackles, the center and every quarterback they stick behind the makeshift line. The mitigating injuries should see Whisenhunt getting another year.

First Whiz gets another year in Tenn. Second I can realistically see Bowles going either to the Giants or Chicago since both will want to rebuild their defense which has been a hallmark for both teams. I think Coughlin is definitely out. Trestman may get one more in Chicago. Smith is safe if Atlanta gets into the playoffs.

The Ryans HATE the Bidwills and vice versa. No way does Rex coach here.
