I had some European internet feed on. For some reason, they kept the players footage during the break (no commercials) and you can hear Collinsworth and Al Michael chat in the background.

At one point, Collinsworth said something like "I couldn't have guessed something like this would be happenning tonight". Al Michael said "I believed Cardinals could win big tonight"... there were other background chatting regarding how dominating Cardinals defense has been. I thought it was quite entertaining to listen to their informal conversation.

He was praising Cards quite a bit on the air. Stated that he thought DRC once he gets more seasoning will be the BEST CB in the game.

That's very interesting.. Did Collingsworth step on his crank again about the Cards?

When the NFL Network first started showing preseason games a few years ago they would do the same thing. I guess the advertising wasn't supposed to be aired nationally or something so they just never went to commercial. They would keep a camera on the field, showing nothing at all at times and the commentators would be talking or going over notes. It was an interesting look behind the curtain.

I remember back in the day before DTV when I had the full size dish eating up a third of my yard.. I caught EVERYTHING in the booth during commercials, most of it pretty damn funny.

I like Collinsworth. Don't know why. He does know what he is talking about and he will change his tune if he is wrong. Merrill Hoge could use a lesson.

years ago when I had one of those big satellite dishes, you would always get the comments during the breaks and used to love that part of the game. Collingsworth said all the right things after the game, but something tells me he still doesn't respect the Cards. Coming from a former Bungle I find that hard to take.

I have to believe that Michaels and Collinsworth are the BEST broadcast team in football. As much as I disliked Collinsworth for his work on the pre and post-game shows, he has been stellar as a color analyst. In fact, I have seen him, on occasion be the one who corrects Michaels and sets him straight from time to time during the games, when Michaels has a tendancy to get carried away. He has been very fair, and it is clear that he does his homework, no matter who the teams are that are playing. Maybe it is because he learned a very hard lesson from his remark about the Cards last playoff season, but he has certainly made no such remarks as a analyst.

I can't stand Cris Collinsworth. He can try and change his tune and praise us from now until forever, but his constant railing against us in the past cannot be overlooked. He's a tool.

This was my view of Collinsworth tonight. I don't think he picked a winner....

I used to love the "wild feeds" esp in basketball where you would see the cheerleaders (dancers) do their stuff, really closeup.:)

I ask you, would you rather watch a 60 second ad of a pick up truck driving to the edge of a mountain, or some of the dancers?

Collinsworth is a Howard Cosell who actually knows what he is talking about. He is brash, outspoken, and he blows with the wind. Right now the prevailing wind is with Vichy.

I've always thought Collinsworth was pretty good. I don't always agree with him but I've always appreciated his willingness to state his opinion rather than play it safe.

Let's not give his analysis too much credence though. After Adrian Wilson broke up a 2nd pass from Favre(aka, dropped another interception) he said that AW was really good in coverage all year. ??? Been watchin' a lot of game tape there, Collinsworth?

I just wish he would have read up on us enough to know that we have two players with the last name Wells, so that he didn't have to call Reggie "Beanie" all game. Is it really that difficult to tell the difference between the two??

lol, I was saying the same thing.. he was talking about why our secondary is so damn good, because we have 4 corners out there with Wilson and Rolle.

Nice stat homework there Chris.

omg! did he really? That surprises me 'cause he usually prepares well (unlike Brian Billick).

:yeahthat:

In my experience once you end up being a tool you don't come back from that.

I also have liked him for a very long time. He speaks from experience and has a good head. One of the better announcers in my opinion.

Yup. My favorite was when he was talking about how Beanie Wells slid over to help Jeremy Bridges with Jared Allen.
