UCLA is being completely outcoached and outclassed. Makes no sense since Howland always gets the best of the best recruits.

Must be due to injuries and the refs.

UCLA was playing four freshman at times, but Nova was simply better. Much better.

UCLA better not complain about Nova getting a homegame. That doesn't get u blown out.

The only complaint I have was UCLA starting at 10am west coast time.

Beyond that they just got outfought by a tougher team. Nova landed the first punch, then the 2nd, then the 3rd and UCLA never punched back.

4th straight year their tourney ends with a blowout loss, when Howland's gameplan doesn't work he's not very good at adjusting it, he just keeps at it and assumes something will change.

If Jrue Holiday is really one and done then I don't know a thing about basketball. He single handedly gave Nova the blowout, UCLA cut it to 13 at the half, got the ball to start the 2nd half, Holiday has the ball 25 feet from the basket and is just sleeping as his man reaches in and steals it. 2 minutes later Nova is up 19, holiday had 1 To, 2 fouls and one horrible jacked up 3 in that run before Howland pulled him.

The kid has talent but I really question his desire, he doesn't play hard enough and he can't shoot a lick.

Hats off to Collison, Aboya and Shipp for great careers, horrible way to go out.

Good luck to NOva, best team we've played all year IMHO.

That's why you get a 1 or 2 seed so you can avoid playing at 10am.

I said it all year this years team was not good defensively we gave up way too many easy shots today and got killed on the glass. To be fair UCLA lost their 4 leading rebounders from last year and their 3 best defenders but still I didn't expect the defense to fall off this much year to year.

I just hope the returning guys learn something from this. Reminded me of the way Tulsa abused us one year, the next year we won the title, the difference is that team had seniors in O"Bannon, Edney and Zidek, not seniors like Roll and Keefe and Dragovic.

That's easy. I despise UCLA basketball.

I respect USC football and am envious of their success right now. I wish both Notre Dame and ASU would again become good enough to be competitive with them.

Russ, tell me you are attributing today's performance on the early start.

no I'm saying that's why you have to be good enough to get a high seed so you don't have to go across the country and play at 10am.

UCLA lost too many games before the tournament so they were at the mercy of the committee and wound up in the East.

Nova took us apart today, I don't think it would have mattered where or when the game was played but I do think it's a disadvantage to play a game 10am for a West Coast team they're just not used to that early a start.

The only other time this year UCLA played that early, IIRC, was Notre Dame and that was just a complete mismatch against a soft team that played no defense, and it was a home game.

But the reason you play all year to get a high seed is to avoid having to play in situations like UCLA faced today. If you're not good enough to get that seed, you better be able to deal with adversity better than UCLA did today.
