There is no doubt that every Suns fan is crushed, and for many good reasons. But in order to get myself in a better mood and lose my suicidal tendencies, I need to start thinking positive.

So, here it goes.

It seems the very earliest that Amare can return would be after the All-Star Break (at the earliest). Last year we stood at 48-14 at the break, and we will have 52 games before the break this year....

Over under 29 wins by the All-Star Break without Amare?

I say over.

If we are .500 that would be a great success. If Amare isn't going to come back fully healthy this year, I wouldn't mind if we tanked it and drafted a young PG.

I think if the remaining Suns go all-out, they can probably play close to .600 without Stoudemire. Over .500 really shouldn't be a problem, barring another major injury. They still have two All-Stars and several solid role players, which is more than a lot of teams can say.

But whether the team can focus enough to play .600 is another question. They were all thinking championship just yesterday, so if our letdown is enormous, imagine what theirs must be like.

I hasn't sunk in yet. I think the Suns are still a playoff team, but some guys are going to have to play a lot better than our more conservative projections.
