on the run from johnny law... ain't no trip to cle
my brother moved to phoenix and is looking for a computer type job. here's his resume summary:

For the last 8 years, I have worked as a freelance web developer and PHP programmer. I taught myself HTML, initially out of personal interest, and quickly developed a professional understanding of multiple client/server side languages.

During that time, I've worked with a variety of companies in many different industries. I've completed projects which range from small-scale corporate brochure sites to fully transactional e-commerce and database-driven sites. While most of my clientele has been acrued by word of mouth, I have had a great deal of work outsourced to me by major IT/Web firms in other cities.

While PHP programming and database integration is certainly my strongest point, my skillset also includes standards-compliant XHTML, CSS style sheets, JavaScript, and XML. I am also very proficient in SQL syntax and usage.

I've created web applications that run on lightweight MySQL databases, and other more intensive projects that are made to mine through hundreds of thousands of SQL Server rows.

As an example, I recently worked full time for an auto warranty company for 2 years, where my task was to develop a central online resource for the company's national sales force. The portal allowed sales agents to order materials, maintain a list of their car dealerships, view PDF scans of the warranties they sold, see the commissions they've made, view their progress in a graphical form, and forecast potential sales for the near future. It also incorporated a notification system that allowed agents to receive important alerts in real-time via e-mail, fax, and mobile text messaging.

In addition to my programming experience, I have an excellent understanding of design, for both web and print. With 5+ years of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator experience, I have created everything from logos and site designs to overall corporate identities for my clients.

I am currently looking for a full-time position where I can dedicate 100% of my time and resources to the needs of one company. I'm excited to face new challenges in the web development arena, and am confident that I can exceed the expectations therein.

if anyone knows of anything of interest that might be available, let me know. thanks.

Hey Jenna, with PHP/CSS/MySQL he might want to give Jelsoft a shot (the company that puts out this board software).

Link to apply for a job is here: http://www.vbulletin.com/about.php

They are based in the UK, but I know they have at least one employee here in Phoenix.
