I will give Warner 4 games before I ask for Leinart. He deserves AT LEAST that. If the Cardinals are 1-3 or 0-4 then yeah.

Honestly everyone should be happy Matt is doing well. It isn't a Warner versus Leinart thing. It is a damn aren't we lucky to have depth at the most vital position in football.

I'm trying to find the middle ground on this issue. The above is pretty fair I think.

The QB-controversy-meter has moved off of "zero". But only to "one".

Mokler, I saw that you were creepycard.

I have banned that account. I have ZERO desire to extend your ban past the last preseason game. I want you to be able to post when Warner leads us to a victory against those damn 49ers.

Please don't re-register.

Gee whiz man, the warnerphiles get pretty tedious. Do they know how tedious they get? Do they understand that their unreasonable support of Warner only fans the flames of any potential controversy?

Man, Duckjake, I hope Texas loses every game they play this year.

How great is that rivalry my friend?

Awesome no doubt. I once had a fellow student tell me back in the day that he wouldn't be for OU if they were playing Russia. :D

Sure hated to see the Big XII kill off the Nebraska/OU Thanksgiving weekend game. That was another great rivalry with some classic games.

It was part of the Cash for Corners program. Run by a Norman Oklahoma dealership.

I agree. I love having Matt here, he is going to be really good. I'm just saying, Kurt is the man until then. Matt is awesome to have on the team. He will get his time.

Exactly. Next year or the next, Matt will light up an opponent like Rodgers did against us last night.

Conrad Dobler, what about Favre last year with the jets at their place in the 1st half? Best half I saw last year.

I really hope some fans finally get their wish. Having to endure post season success and the best QB play this team has ever seen must be really disappointing.

I seem to be missing all the threads pointing to Leinart's fumbles and interceptions as costing the Cardinals the game. Somebody's throwing around goose's and gander's but seems to have completely abandoned this line of discussion so prevalent whenever Warner makes any kind of mistake.

Those who choose to start a thread as ridiculous as this aren't worth the piss it would take to shower them. If one wants to think that, yet again, throwing the ball against 2nd and 3rd teamers in the preseason is indicative of anything then I hope they have fun in la la land.

Get out your voodoo dolls haters. That's Leinart's only shot at starting.

I am a Cardinal fan , first and foremost. I was torn last year in the QB controversy and honestly thought Leinart should have been the starter. I am GLAD I was wrong.

To this year.
No one should judge Warner's performance to this point as a measuring stick whether he shpould be the starter or not. Yes there are health concerns, but there are always health concerns when your QB is coming off hip surgery and is 38 years old.
However, he is playing preseason games in a vanilla plan without 2/3rds of his wr corp. That has to play to some measurement in his performance, at least that is what we ALL should be hoping for.

Turning to Leinart. His play has been nothing but encouraging. I don't care who it's against. He still has to throw the ball accurately to the open receiver. Note that he has been dealing with numerous 3rd and long situations and coming up big. I'm talking third and 15 or longer with some of those in the shadows of his own goal line. How , as a Cardinal fan, can you NOT be happy with that?

I feel very good about Leinart. That being said, I want Warner to repeat last years performance. I also feel good that we have a coach that WILL play the guy that give us the best chance to win no matter what his name is.

There is no controversy yet. Only losses and bad QB play will get that flame going.

Wow, how can folks get so polarized over so little?

I seems that Matt has taken his opportunity seriously, studying the playbook and film. Whiz says he is happy with his progress, and so am I.

Yes, Warner's hip is a little sore. So what? It was worse last year and that didn't work out to bad.

Put me in the corner that is happy to have 2 probable very good QB's. How many teams don't even have 1 ??

Warner's run throughout the playoffs can not be discounted at this point. He's going to have to pick it up where he left off however. Matty's knocking on the door.

Some stinkers like he threw up against The NYJ and Philly regular season won't cut it again.

With the emergence of Beannie Wells, we need good ball control and a better chance of developing a real run game. Matt may be better suited to that. We'll see.

Kurt could become more of a specailist. Hurry up and change of pace.

Very good sir.

Here's to a hard fought game on Oct 17th, with no injuries except to Duckjake's pride.

Can't happen:

2005 UT BCS Champions
2006 St.Louis Cards World Series Champions
2007 San Antonio Spurs NBA Champs
2008 Arizona Cardinals NFC Champs

Meanwhile the Cubs have gone 100 years without a World Series title.

It will be awhile before a loss by one of my teams in any sporting event bothers me. :D

losing to the Sooners would hurt mine also and its been happening too often lately.

Texas has won 3 of the last 4 and outscored OU 139-85 in those 4 games.

So not too often lately.

I don't know of any other huge rivalry that has been as streak laden as this one.

That was in the regular season, I can't appreciate efforts done to us in the regular season since I'm too busy being pissed off :)

I just thought it was an amazing half of football, they literally did anything they wanted for a while, I'm sure there were better halfs played sometime, somewhere but he was hitting long bombs and everything in between, I'd be excited to be a Packers fan this year.

No sir.. This is a what have you done for me lately league.. Thats why Kurt got the starters job last year.. If we are to go off that this, Matt should be the starter this year.. Not that Im asking for it, Kurt is determine this..

Its time.. Matt has has sat back and festered.. No need to let us lose because we have new fans that know nothing about Cards football dictate our future.. You and them will learn to love the direction that will be.. And the future is a balanced offenced with Beanie.. Not some schmo (Kurt) saying he hates the running game and being in the shotgun and hopes he never has to hand it off.. How selfish could Kurt get?

Damn, Gee. HAHAHA. You are one of the favorite posters. I'm only on the 2nd page of this thread, but this post was too good to pass on commenting.
