Now that I'm officially happier about the Nash signing (pending an upward re-revision to his reported salary), I thought I'd share this nice tidbit:

Among all active players with enough attempts to qualify, Nash is #2 in three-point percentage at .416 -- a tiny fraction behind Wesley Person, and ahead of such luminaries as Brent Barry (.407), Michael Redd (.405), Ray Allen (.401), and Peja Stojakovic (.398).

And he's been over 40% in seven of his eight NBA seasons. Let's hope that trend continues!

As I mentioned in another thread, Nash is unique in that he is first rate pure shooter who averages almost 9 assists a game. Barry is the only guy on the list that can point and he has far fewer assists. I have no doubt that Nash will do great things for the Suns offense if only by preventing opponents from going into zone defenses.

For all my bitching about his price and defense, I have no doubt that Nash will bring back the excitement to the Suns. The Colangelos like a team that scores a lot of points and this team will score a bunch of points. Hopefully more than their opponents.
