According to San Antonio newspapers, Steve Kerr is waiting for the playoffs to end to speak to Mike Budenholzer (sp?) about the head coaching job.

It is claimed that Kerr and Coach B. have a close relationship and the fact that Coach B is Gregg Popovich's number one assistant is appealing to Kerr.

Have you guys heard anything about this in Phoenix?

No.

It seems like Kerr is just using this process as a way to pick the brains of a lot of guys to get as many perspectives on the Suns as he can. I think talking to Spurs insiders would be really interesting, even if this guys has no chance of being head coach.

Kerr himself wrote that Budenholzer is a candidate while answering some fan mail a couple days ago.

That's what Mark Cuban did when he made AJ coach. He did it to beat the Spurs.
It only worked for a year.
After that, they couldn't beat anyone passed the first round.

Kerr is our AJ. Spurs, despite the loss, were no longer the toughest roadblocks in the West. We lost game 3 to them due to one Parker-TD PNR for the whole game long. That's inacceptible and evidence for unpreparedness on our part. It's not gonna happen again with any new coach.
