I think there is zero chance of the Cards signing a vet to be backup QB before August. They will see how Navarre and Davey do in preseason.

At this point, you might be right and it would be a huge mistake.

I rather have Brooks. But, if we had three QBs on the roster on draft day, I wouldn't think we'd be drafting any QBs. My guess is, unless the terms are exceptional, Cards would wait until after draft day to make an FA desision.

I don't have any confidence in either guy. I think Green was sincere when he went out of his way to praise Navarre at the season-ending news conference. I'd like some kind of vet now. But, there are always some stop gap types released in August and September. Regardless, we'll probably spend a lot of time praying Warner stays healthy this next season.

The Cards actually have 4 QBs on the roster. Which is enough for reps in minicamps and training camps without wearing out someone's arm. This is another reason why I think the Cards are fully prepared to go to camp with what they have now.

I do think they will take Vince Young if he is there though.

Agreed - if Cutler or Young are there we should go that direction - IMO.

I don't think Navarre makes it to training camp. I'm guessing the Cards either draft another QB or add a FA QB after the draft. Then Navarre gets cut.

So we'd go into camp with only 2 QBs?

Brooks has been an all world under achiever and would be horrible addition to this team. Brooks has had a ton of talent around him and still managed to stink it up. He makes the dumbest decisions at the most crucial moments in the game. He is actually a player that can make your team worse.

Harrington, on the other hand, could be a steady backup with Brad Johnson potential. Is he an elite QB? No, but I also think that he was put in a position that very few QB's would succeed in. He had very few weapons during his time with Detroit, and the weapons that they did try and get stunk. Charles Rogers is a bust. Roy Williams can't stay healthy. Mike Williams apparently plays slower than you can imagine. Kevin Jones goes down easier than JJ Arrington. Add the coaching change to Mooch who runs the exact opposite offense that Harrington should be running in his second year and it is no wonder he didn't succeed. Again, not stating that Harrington is a great QB but could potentially be a great backup.
