Could AZ be Harrington's next stop?

I don't know much about Joey's challenges but I could see a guy like Warner helping him finally develope into a decent QB. DG also has a history of resurecting the careers of QBs. He seems like the right kind of project as a backup to Kurt.

Harrington's comments below suggest he is ready for a situation like this.

Funny! The picture wasn't quite the same one I had after he kicked our ass the last few years. If I remember correctly, he looked all-pro both times. Granted most QBs have looked all-pro against us.

The Cardinals haven't exactly been road warriors the last few years either.

Cards seem to prefer guys who are 25 or 26 years old with several years of potential success in their futures.

I would love Harrington at the right price. A capable backup who could probably use a couple of years learning behind Warner. Better in the pocket but capable of getting out of trouble.

Yea that's what I was thinking. He could fit here.

We bring him in, we could draft Justice or Huff.

We should wait until after the draft to act on that though.

I could live with Harrington or Brooks backing up Warner. Brooks has been more successful but Harrington is younger and has more of an upside.

Harrington may just need a change of scenery and maybe without the poressure of being the starter and given some time to sit and learn he'd be ready in 2 years to take over from Warner.

I think the Cardinals are in a position to compete in the Playoffs for the next few years. I had rather the Cardinals draft Cutler at 10, but if Denny decides to go the FA route, I had rather put my money on a younger QB. I think Brooks would be a better backup for a team with a young QB.

Well that's true.

But the thought of Joey as our QBOF makes me ill.

Brooks no - terrible decision maker. Throws into coverage too much.

Not that Harrington's a whole lot better - but there's alot more upside there. He can be coached up more. As far as his comments (aluding to being a b/u I suppose), I think it's admirable that his attitude is - he'll work for whatever he gets.

Brooks has 6.9 yards per attempt career, and a 120/84 TD/INT ratio

Harrington has 5.7 y/attempt, and a 60/62 TD/INT ratio.

Brooks has significantly better stats, and only 2 additional years in the league. Dont get me wrong though, I would not want him as QBOF, just a serviceable backup with experience who could fight it out with a QBOF for playing time. If they dont think of Navarre as a QBOF, he should be dumped as he just takes a roster spot unnecessarily.

Anyone who thinks Harrington should be our QB of the future is smoking something.

I don't like Brooks or Harrington. But of the two, I'd go with Brooks as the Cards back-up QB because he throws a good deep ball--and that would be good for our WRs.

Brooks can get us 6-8 wins and would be just as good as McCown as our back-up QB.
