IMO there could be 5 HC opeinings announced early next week:

Cards fire Denny Green

Falcons may get rid of Mora. Owner not happy with team performance.

Raiders should get rid of Shell.

Crennel is on the fence in Cleveland.

Cowher will most likely retire in Pittsburgh.

Bottom line is that Cards will not be the only team looking for a replacement and there are not that many good candidates available. Hate to have to settle for a rethread.

Shell is the only 'lock'. Mora and Coughlin are closest to the edge. Green, well, you can never tell with the Bidwill's....

I don't think Gruden will get fired. The Bucs gave up a lot to get him, and he did bring them a title--no small feat in Tampa.

Sorry. Didn't see this thread before I posted the same one.

I actually can't convince myself that Green gets fired by this owner. Graves either.

Arthur Blank is an idiot and I think Mora would like to get fired so he can continue to cash checks waiting for another opening. Blank needs to stay in the owner's suite and get the hell off the sidelines.

Gruden probably wants out of Tampa.

Tom Coughlan has to go in New York.

Crennel may get another year.

Shell is working for an Alzheimer's patient.

Cowher seesm to have burn out.

Saban can't handle pro job.

If the Colts don't win it this year, Dungy could be a candidate. He is supposed to be a defensive guru, but we all know Colts can't stop anyone. Never have, maybe never will.

If Gruden became available, I believe he would be snatched up. Maybe he wants out of there.

I also think Green will stay. Bidwill's will look at the $2.5M and decide not to eat it after a meeting with Mr. Green.

I think all five go

Shell and Green are the easiest

For a team fighting for the playoffs, the Giants from lockerroom to field seem in disarray.

Mora jr has combined dissapointing on field results with both he and his father popping off on the radio.

Gruden probably has the best chance to stay, but I think Tampa makes a change.

I have completely did a 180 on Green. I thiink our biggest problem was the lose of Fitz right when Matt was given the starting nod. I hate to start over again with another staff and now say keep Green for another year. It is hard to say what the Bidwells are thinking. Glad I don't have to make the deceision.

If the G-men beat the Skins and win a playoff game, Coughlin saves his job. Not sure about Gruden. His QB got hurt, which ended any chance they had.

The other three (DG, Mora, and Shell) are 99% certain to be gone IMO.

Coughlin, Green and Mora are the most likely to be fired. Shell also might go but its his first year and Davis is so hard to read.

Arthur Blank stated that 8-8 was unacceptable and Mora made those comments on the radio. If Mora is let go we should at least interview him. Coughlin has lost that his team and the media is all over him for the Giants situation. He will join the ranks of ex-NYC coaches. Green of course is easy but some have pointed out that the Bidwill'd may not want to start over and that Green could be allowed to finish his contract.

Gruden is still alive because of his Superbowl win and the success they had last year. That team had a lot of contract problems that were not his fault. Shell will be fired at some point but I think he gets another year. Still, the entire offense needs to be blown up. The Raiders would be smart to try to acquire Leftwich for Moss or a day one pick.

Cowher may well retire but I think Crennel will get another year. I actually like Crennel quite a bit and he should be considered by our front office if he is fired. I see the Brown's improving next year especially with Bently back from injury.

Green is gone.

Mora is gone, but it's idiotic, because he is forced to publicly support Vick, when I think he really wants to start Schaub. Vick should be traded and Schaub should start. Mora will be fired, but I'm not sure he should be.

Shell is gone.

Crennel will get one more year. It really sucks when your first few centers get hurt.

Cowher is probably gone, but the Steelers will promote either Grimm or Wisenhut (Sp?)

Green is gone.

Mora is gone. He and Blank have been fighting over the use of Vick for two years. The disapointing season and Mora's comments about he would leave the Falcons anyday to coach Washington means Blank will choose Vick over Mora.

Crennel gets another year IMO.

Cowher retires.

Shell is probably gone.

Coughlin is gone.

BUT!!! The Steelers will promote from within and rumor is that the Raiders will do the same with Ryan.

So in reality there's only 3 job openings.

I hope Green is gone by in the bizzaro world of the Cardinals I would not bet one cent on Green being gone. If you can get inside the head(s) of who ever makes a coaching decision for the Cardinals then you may need help. Nothing will surprise me.

I forgot about Coughlin when I did my list. Wallyburgher and I also posted similar topics a couple of minutes apart. Giants can still make the playoffs so perhaps Coughlin will be there for another year. The media is really down on him so who knows.
Gruden will be back for at least another year.

I like Mora...too bad we couldn't get him to come here.

I think he's a good coach, forced to play a halfback at quarterback and smile as Ron Mexico fails to lead the team.

I am sort of a fan of John Gruden. They paid an arm and a leg to hire him and I would not mind at all seeing him in AZ. I doubt he would come here because of the Bidwill factor (control). You would think a HC could select his assistants at the least and be given enough money to hire them.

Green sure does not act like a guy who is staying. One would think the Bidwills must have already made a decision and out of courtesy told Green of their decision. Still, this is the Bidwills so always be prepared for anything.

Yep the Bidwills are cheap so any decision they make is based on that or at least will be reported that way.

I really don't think Al Davis will fire Shell. They are good friends and Davis knows Shell did not have much to work with. I think he will get another year.

Im sorry but the loss of Fitz was not the reason for this mess. Its was a contibutor for sure. But hardly the main reason.
