What do you guys think? Reading the article about Veterans bitching and complaining about the use of purple hearts in Wedding Crashers just got me shaking my head to the point of believing that EVERYONE is just looking to bitch about something.

So - with that being said - do you think the greatest comedy/social satire of all time - Blazing Saddles - could be made and come out today?

My guess is a fat, RESOUNDING NO.

What do you all think?

Could it be made? Yes. Would it be made, yeah, but it would receive the same BS that movies like Wedding Crashers receives.

5 MINUTE LATER EDIT: Come to think about it, with so many white people using the N word in Blazing Saddles, I retract my statement. We're too politcally correct of a country now. My answer switches to NO.

You really think a movie that starts with lines like:

"Dock that ***** a days pay for napping on the job"

"How about a good old ****** work song? When you were slaves, you sang like birds."

"Number 6. Number Six. I'm not familiar with that one."
"That's when we go a romping into town, a whoooping and wamping, killing every living in thing in sight... except the women folk of course."
"You spare the women?"
"Nahhh, we rape the **** out of them at the number 6 hitching post!"

And that's just the first ten minutes. You really think any studio would make that film that has a sweet old lady saying "Up yours ******?"

People have criticized Tarantino's films for the use of the "N" word and other things, but his films still get made.

Raunchy "humorous" films like Me, Myself, and Irene still get made, etc...

Of course it could be made! I can't believe you are so adamant with your "no".

If Bad Santa could be made in today's America (and make money), then Blazing Saddles could be as well. Easily.
