Brandon Weeden is exceptionally well-prepared as a backup (Weeden routinely gets one day of practice with the starters each week while Romo takes a veteran rest day to protect his back) - all is not lost if Romo is forced to sit out a game or two. Footballguys.com

I may be in a minority here but I think that the Cards could have a tougher time winning if Weeden starts versus an injured Romo. Weeden may have struggled in Cleveland but that whole team & organization was in chaos. Dallas has an top notch offensive line, the top RB in Murray and excellent receivers.
Sorry but I don't see the Cards winning in Dallas. Hope I'm wrong.

Weeden isn't Tony Romo. Still he is a capable backup who has the best OL, RB, and WR in football. Not to mention there is Whitten and Escobar at TE. He is surrounded by talent and gets to play at home if Romo doesn't go. So he won't have to worry about crowd noise.

This is a very difficult task for the Cardinals this week. I think our Defense gets exposed on the road for it's lack of pass rush. We will be forced to blitz often which will allow receivers to find openings.

As I mentioned in another thread, the best defesne is a good offense in this case. In order for the Cardinals to win in Dallas the Offense needs to step up and control the clock. We need the O to have long sustained drives that eat the clock and finish with TDs.

Their O-line has given up 17 sacks, 5 against Washington.

Cards have given up 11, but, only 4 with CP in the game.

So much is being made regarding the lack of sacks from the Cards. But the up the middle blitz that Bowles runs does not lend itself to sacks. Because the QB can see it, it forces him to throw it away or make a bad pass.

They are going to have to try to run against us. I think our defense presents alot of problems for the Cowboys offense.

I am hoping Romo does start. I believe we can get to him. He won't be moving well that is for sure.

LOL

Can i put a moratorium on the "i dont think we win this game" threads and comments?

First off I feel very confident after watching that WAS/DAL game. But thats besides the point.

No one on this board is going to be like "gee whiz you are a genius for calling they were going to lose" and no one really cares either! So just cut it out.

Only if we put one on the 'I don't think we will lose this game' comments too. We aren't going to stop people from posting their opinions, as long as they don't break the rules of this site.

Weeden had an exceptional wide receiver, tight end, and offensive line with the Browns. Didn't help him become an adequate starting quarterback.

Weeden in theory could beat the Cardinals, but anyone who's seen him play with the Browns knows that he's not a capable QB in this league.

ESPN gives him a QBR of 26, which is the lowest amongst all QBs since 2012; even lower than Sanchez.

Whether it's Weeden or an injured Romo, they have a disadvantage at QB for this game.

+1 The guy was given every chance in Cleveland with a good supporting cast. Now I DO believe in coaching being able to turn careers around but I just didn't see that on Monday.

However, this is a road game, against a 6-2 team with tremendous potential on offense. Anyone who is cavalier about the cards kicking their ass is being foolish.

if that October 26th Cardinal team shows up in Arlington, I think there is a good shot at pulling off the upset.

bingo. I'll be MUCH happier facing Weeden then Romo. We've got a week of tape on him, and it's always easier for a bad backup to come in, thrown to the fire and play okay versus having the weight of the world on his shoulders coming into the game.

in fact, I'll be pissed if we lose to Weeden, even with all the talent the Cowboys have on that team. We're healthy (as healthy as this team can be), rolling and beating another possible playoff team to boost our tie-breakers would be huge heading into two winnable home games.

Its funny because the interior pressure scheme is really taking over in the NFL. Rob Ryan uses it in New Orleans as well almost exclusively.

It has to do with speed off of the edge and the fact that we don't have any.

It's a good thing I go into every week feeling like our chances for a win are 50/50.

Is the new "calling my shot" crowd a new crop of 12-15 year old fans?

No matter how good or bad this team has been through the years, No matter how beat up or terrible the opponent.... Ive never been overconfident as a Cardinals fan.

That too is my problem and why I even posted this thread. I really hope we kill the Cowboys and feel we would beat them if it was at home. ESPN John Clayton on the Doug & Wolf show this morning said that he doesn't think Romo will play. I just hope we don't under-estimate Weeden. Cowboys will be up for this game for sure.

I hope we beat them too. I hate the Cowboys almost as much as I love the Cards. When we beat Dallas, it makes my year.

I agree that I hope Romo can play. But it brings me back a bad memory. It was at Philly and McNabb was playing. He could hardly stand on his bad leg. So he played one handed and beat no shredded our team up like newspaper.

If he is out the QB will not be as good. We should win In my opinion. We have a solid team ,great coach and assistant coaches.

Why? This is the first time Dallas has been relevant in 15+ years. Don't be like Redskins fans. Beating Dallas once or twice a year is like winning the Superbowl for them.

I still see the Eagles as the clear better team in the East and I honestly think we are a superior team to Dallas. If we lose, it will be because of stupid mistakes on our part while playing a road game. Dallas does not scare me and I see the same Dallas team as I saw last year with a crappy defense that is about to come down to earth under the constant media attention the Cowboys attain

Don't be like Redskins fans??? How about you don't tell me how to be a fan or how I should behave.

Yeah, I think their secondary is mediocre at best. They also just lost their leading tackler.

The game hinges on containing the run and getting pressure against their offensive line, which is one of the best units in all of football.

It's an added incentive if Weeden is starting.

This game scares me, NOT because of Weeden, but because of the Cowboys' running game. They can really run the ball.

If the Cards stop the run and live up to their ranking then all will be OK I think.

Plus, as usual, CP needs to not throw any picks.

My gut says 24-21 Cowboys. My heart says 24-21 Cardinals.

Go Cards!

He could, but he won't.

And Cowboyfan can feel free to leave a Cardinal forum anytime.

McCoy ran pretty good on us. 20 caries 80+ yards. He said after the game that he didn't really see how we were ranked so high in run defense.
